COVER

Masthead – The title of the magazine. It’s the biggest writing on the cover. The logo is originally red.

Main sell line – Is bigger than other sell lines because it’s the most important. It shows the main story of the magazine that often that relates to the cover star.

Barcode – This allows the shop to sell the magazine. It’s placed in a corner and it’s not big, because it’s the less important thing on the cover and has nothing to do with the theme. So it is not meant to grab people’s attention.

Sell lines – The sell lines tell people about the good features that can be found in the magazine and why it’s worth buying. They are meant to encourage people to purchase the magazine. They are white and red so they go with the masthead and the main sell line.

Slogan – Is placed under the logo of the magazine. It simply says what the initials of NME stand for. Main cover image – On the image we can see a music artist called Joe Strummer. The picture is a medium shot of him, and It’s black and white. This was done to make the background contrast with the red writing on the cover. The picture wasn’t taken in a studio, but a different place with a suitable background. The man is in focus and the background is blurred. This means that he is a priority.
