IMAGES OUT OF THE ORDINARY

ABOUT THESE IMAGESTO CELEBRATE THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE QUEEN’S CORONATION, A UNIQUE ONE-OFF EVENT FOR 60,000 VISITORS WAS HELD IN THE GARDENS OF BUCKINGHAM PALACE. THE CORONATION FESTIVAL TOOK PLACE OVER FOUR DAYS IN JULY 2013 AND WAS HOSTED BY THE ROYAL WARRANT HOLDERS, THOSE COMPANIES THAT SUPPLY GOODS AND SERVICES TO THE ROYAL HOUSEHOLD. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO ATTEND ON THE LAST DAY AND I WAS IMMEDIATELY IMPRESSED WITH THE SCALE OF THE EVENT. IT WAS HUGE. IT WAS ALSO EXTREMELY BUSY. I ONLY HAD SIX HOURS TO SHOOT AND TO BE HONEST. WITH SO MUCH HAPPENING, IT WAS QUITE OVERWHELMING FIGURING OUT WHAT TO SEE, THERE WAS SO MUCH TO CHOOSE. IN THE END, I SPENT MOSTOF MY TIME AT THE CATWALK SHOWS AS THE SETTING WAS QUITE MAGICAL AND THE SHOWS THEMSELVES WERE SUPERBLY STAGED. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THE ABSENCE OF A PRESS AREA, AND WITH THE SHOWS DRAWING HUGE CROWDS, GETTING A GOOD POSITION FOR THEM ALL WASN’T EASY. THE GARDENS ARE A MAGNIFICENT LOCATION FOR HOLDING UPSCALE EVENTS LIKE THIS AND IT WAS GREAT TO SEE BRITISH COMPANIES BEING SHOWCASED. I REALLY THINK THIS IS AN EVENT THAT SHOULD TAKE PLACE AGAIN, PERHAPS EVERY OTHER YEAR, IT WAS THAT GOOD. I COULD EASILY HAVE SPENT FOUR DAYS THERE, SO IN THE SHORT TIME I HAD I’M REALLY HAPPY WITH THE SHOTS I GOT. I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM.
