Mankind by David TurowWe've always foughtFor what we thoughtWas more than worthUntimely death;

We often cried,And sometimes died,But never gotThat which we sought.

Yet still again--Perhaps in vain--We'll fight and strive--While we're alive.

The World by William WordsworthThe world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers: Little we see in Nature that is ours; We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon. This sea that bares her bosom to the moon; The winds that will be howling at all hours, And are up-gather'd now like sleeping flowers; For this, for everything, we are out of tune; It moves us not.--Great God! I'd rather be A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn; So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn; Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea; Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.

Dearest Enemy by GeethikaMy evil lair is now emptyOnce full of schemes and evil plansBut all of the disappeared, When I foolishly grasped the chance.

I took up my most malicious idea, And put into action right away. We fought in an epic battle of good and evil, And somehow I seized the day.

I defeated you for the first time,Mortified you took off to the sky. News channels were talking about your abscond, But I thought

this was some sort of lie.

For you were brave and true, You were the hero of the town. And everyone believed in you,You were the one with the crown.

Now I am the ruler, The epic one of all.The most evil person, Standing straight and tall. But what is the use, If you have no one to fight. No one to foil your plans, No one to tell you what is right.

I know this sounds crazy, But, I still think of you every day.I am the villain and you are the hero,I wish nothing took it away. So for now all I can say, You were my dearest enemy.

But one fine day while robbing a deserted bank, Is it a bird? Or a plane? People gaped at the sky, And I felt a neck breaking pain.

The hero was back, I could scream with joy. Hit me hard, That’s my boy! Take the money , Save the young. And throw me to the air, I land in the dung.

Later that day after I had washed myself,I went on with my daft plans. ‘Cause I knew you were back and I was so glad, Once again I had to grab the chance.

I know this sounds crazy, But I think of you every day.I’m the villain and you are the hero,Nothing will change no matter what people say. So for now all I can say, You are my dearest enemy…..

Explanation of Dearest Enemy

Not the power or money but the conflict of the hero. The villain is born a villain and wants nothing more than to fight the hero. He now is longing for his old foe to return and cheers knowing he can ounce again fight his old friend.

The cities and manners of living the language and the scriptway of clothing and eatingall we have cultivated in a long long time of sustenance.

Cosmic Romance by C. Spies Two lovers found each other in the womb of the Cosmos -In a Universe smaller, and infinitely younger.

White hot 'Everything' compressed into the smallest of places, and the smallest of spaces, expanding and cooling into brilliant sparkling clouds of gas -The formation of the interconnecting galaxies.

These two particles stared out across the Cosmos at their opposite counterpart... They were so very similar, and yet so very different from one another.

Their entire lives rotated in different directions, and yet they still felt as though they were one.

They raced to embrace one another, but found that theirs was a forbidden love - One governed and ruled by the laws of physics.

They were forever doomed to their individual isolation, for as soon as they met each other, they annihilated together -

Converging with one another into an indescribable energy, powerful enough to destroy all that is, and all that ever was.

The original Pyramus and Thisbe. The original Romeo and Juliet.A battle on a cosmic scale - That of the two lovers,Matter and Antimatter.

Ego’s Wounds by Drifting CloudTime heals all of ego's woundsWhat happened many lifetimes agoLong forgotten and thus forgivenNo longer does the incident disturb us

But as the time train chugs along its tracksAnd space and form appear in a new movie frameIt allows ego to stab at the psyche once againAs long as we ride behind its locomotive

It's only by our strong belief in ego's movieThat so painfully we can be hurt by itAnd when we see through the grand façadeWe can leave ego's foolish world far behind

And be free of its piercing, stinging woundsDeep into the tender heart of beliefNot just with the passing of timeBut in the ever present now

You Don’t Know Who I Think I Am by Fall Out Boy

Oh oh oh ohOh oh oh oh

A penny for your thoughts but a dollar for your insightsOr a fortune for your disasterI'm just a painter and I'm drawing a blank[Chorus]We only want to sing you to sleepIn your bedroom speakers, whoaWe need umbrellas on the insideGet me just rightThey say quitters never winBut we walk the plank on a sinking shipThere's a world outside of my front doorThat gets off on being down

Oh oh oh oh[Chorus]I could learn to pity fools as I'm the worst of allAnd I can't stop feeling sorry for myselfWhoa[Chorus]
