After having a shot reverse shot and over shoulder angle for approximately 15 seconds we are introduced to text again, this time on the left hand side of the screen

Extreme zoom up of the protagonists face.

Not very clear, but, an over shoulder shot. Using the 180 degree rule.

The text is still at a small font and it remains white. We get an insight on the location (India, Mumabi) and the year (2006)

The black screen appears again but the text font remains the same and it also stays white.

Giving us a taster on the films base storyline and how it begins- being the Indian version of who wants to be a millionaire.

• Information- The opening of Slumdog Millionaire is actually quite brief in contrast to the complicated and exciting stroyline it represents afterwards. The text appears and we do not get any insight on the actors/actresses/directors names we only get the information that it is based in Mumbai and the plot is in 2006.

• The Font- It appears as a small font coloured white, with a black background to contrast with it. This is a very simple layout and it is immediately ironic as the storyline is a complete opposite. The genre would be a romantic but also an action but at the same time being based on a true stroyline. With the film showing poverty parts of India.

• Text- as the text comes up on the screen a fast background music begins. This is exactly the type of music you would get in an evening TV show for contestants answering questions. We get an immediate insight on what the story could be about. As the text comes up on the screen it is shown in a question manner, with it giving options of a,b or c, just like you would for a tv programme. Also the fastness of the sound in the background is foreshadowing the tensity of the film. The protagonist is shown very close up sweating a lot.
