WHY NOW? In March 2015, Paint Bull will celebrate the 25th year of our incorporation. We are proud of this accomplishment and would like to sincerely thank all of our customers, as without you nothing would have been possible. To say our industry has changed since 1989 is an understatement as I am sure we all can agree.

Our industry, since its inception has primarily focused on the wholesale market working with car dealerships on their used car inventories. With all of its challenges, this has proven to be a great market and continues to be so. These dealerships were easy to market to as the most effective method was to simply stop in, make a sales call and perform a demonstration. Since this is where most mobile technicians begin and since it proved profitable, our industry rightly so concentrated here.

This concentration on wholesale work has left the retail market essentially untapped. Most technicians have performed some retail work, but very few have had a focused marketing effort to make it a primary part of their business. While the retail market allows for higher prices, there is a distinct difference between wholesale quality and retail quality. While these differences are primarily of function of time spent on the repair, the biggest obstacle has always been the ability to present the consumer with an estimate and then waiting for a call after time has been spent driving to the vehicle. No one wants to waste time driving around writing estimates for retail customers when they can be working on a car dealer’s lot making money.

GOING DIGITAL. Fortunately with the advent of smart phones and the internet, consumers can now easily forward a photo of their damage which technicians can use to create an estimate-Problem solved! Well maybe not quite so fast. While the internet has allowed us to create estimates without having to drive around town-it has also totally changed the way businesses market their services. While the Yellow Pages and Local Newspapers were once all that was needed to get your business found, things have changed dramatically, and continue to change.

Just a couple of years ago all a business had to do was create a web site and they were then easily found on line. Today a web site is just the beginning. The tricky part is making sure your web site can be found when customers damage their vehicles and are in need of your service.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that providing our services to retail customers has been a goal of ours for many years and while March 2015 marks our 25th year, it also represents the beginning of a new era for Paint Bull with a focus on generating retail customers.

OUR PARTNER. The starting point for this new focus is creating a unified internet presence so potential customers can easily find us and get an estimate. In order to accomplish this-we have partnered with SEM Resources out of North Carolina, their team of experts are eager to help Paint Bull and our affiliates enter into and generate business from this retail market. They have created a complete Digital Media Presence going beyond a web site, which will be the starting point of the program.

As was pointed out earlier, the digital world is ever changing and your digital presence needs to do the same. Creating this is only the beginning and should not be thought of as something that can be left alone—your digital presence needs nurturing for it to grow and as with everything it takes time.

BRANDING PAINT BULL.

A concern we have had, and you may also is that all of this is branded under Paint Bull. We recognize one of the benefits of working with Paint Bull is that your business is yours and you can call it whatever you like. During the discussions with SEM it was determined that it is much easier (and cheaper) to create one internet brand which everyone can use as opposed to literally hundreds of individual brands. While the digital media will carry the Paint Bull Logo-everyone will have their own company name and contact information.

As was pointed out earlier the digital world is ever changing and your digital presence needs to do the same. Creating this is only the beginning and should not be thought of as something
