Volkswagen India introduces the made-in-India and made-for-India carline Ameo at a starting price of INR 5.14 Lakh
- 1.2L Ameo MPI will be available at a starting price at INR 5.14 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai)*
- Offers segment first features like cruise control, rain sensing wipers, centre arm rest, anti-pinch power windows and static cornering lights to further enhance the Volkswagen experience
Mumbai, June 05, 2016: Volkswagen, Europe’s leading car manufacturer, today launched the much awaited Volkswagen Ameo, the first sub 4-metre sedan by the brand. The Volkswagen Ameo is currently available with a 1.2L 3-cylinder MPI engine mated to 5-speed manual gear box. On this occasion, Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “Today is a very special day for Volkswagen in India, as we introduce our first ever made-for-India carline, Volkswagen Ameo. The Ameo underlines our philosophy of offering the best of technology and safety standards packaged at an attractive price. Through the Ameo, we are confident of cementing Volkswagen’s strong presence in the compact sedan segment and further expand the Volkswagen India family.” Volkswagen Ameo boasts of numerous segment 1st features and several class leading features. (Annex attached) For Volkswagen, safety is of paramount importance and hence, Ameo comes with essential safety features. All variants will come equipped with dual front airbags and ABS as standard.
