About Life Jackets• Inflatable Lifejackets (type III and V)• Requires regular inspection and maintenance!• Inflatable life jackets are a more comfortable and

lightweight option than the traditional buoyant lifejacket. They are a universal size, one size fits all, and usually have more flotation (20-35 pounds) than an inherently buoyant life jacket (typical is 15.5 pounds) When deflated they are compact and appear to resemble a big set of suspenders. Some inflatable lifejackets also come in a belt pack style designed to be worn in front, not a fanny pack. Both styles of inflatable lifejackets rely on an inflation chamber to provide buoyancy. …

Issue: Lack of Coordination with Safety Initiatives, Retailers, and Manufactures

•SOLUTION▫Partner with PFDMA and other

manufacturers to collaborate with boating safety advocates to market life jackets and life jacket “WEAR” promotions to retailers

▫Influence purchasing managers decision on how to have the correct year round product inventory, i.e. child, PWC, water sports, fishermen (float coats)
