We-as BPW Turkey- are working for Women Empowerment Principles that are a set of Principles for business offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community till 2010.

The EU-funded Project SİSAM was prepared in the framework of WEP’s

The methodology has been developed which consists different 7 modules in order to ground all relevant stakeholders such as Turkish Women Organizations, women entrepreneurships at different levels in Women Empowerment Principles one by one.

The 1st international event realized in Turkey for to increase awareness for WEPs in May 2011 under the care of Minister of Education Ms. Nimet Çubukcu.

Another important duty of BPW-Turkey for WEPs is the translation of the WEPs Booklet into Turkish with the sponsorhip of Turkcell....

In order to introduce WEPs Booklet and to create wide and strong communication network among the stakeholders like the non governmental organizations operating on social gender, relevant public organizations, Parliamentary Commissions, business world, local administrations and the decisive actors of the decision mechanism, Press Meeting and High Level Lunch were realised in İstanbul in 31.10.2012.

We-as BPW-Turkey- aim to raise awareness on the UNWEPs in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries to engage stakeholders from business, government, civil society and academia from the Region through the collaborative efforts of Ms. Habiba Al Marash, Network Representative and Chairman of the Board, Gulf Countries Global Compact Local Network, Ms. Sameera Altuwaijr, Director of the UN-Women Regional Center in Cairo, Egypt, Princess Fay Jahan Ara as Goodwill Ambassador of BPW International and Turkish WEPs Signatories in April 2013 under the care of TR Ministry of Family and Social Policies with the participation of Minister Ms. Fatma Şahin and Deputy Minister Ms. Fatma Şahin.

We-as BPW-Turkey aim to give supports to New Gender Task Force, launched in cooperation with the Turkish, Japanese and Mexican Government, business and civil society, aims to close gender gap by 10% by 2015. As a member of working group of WEF initiative will make surveying to enlight the current situation of 28 Turkish Firms from different regions and cities regarding to the WEPs together with Soroptimist Turkey.

We-as BPW-Turkey aim to organise Exhibition and Fear for Women Vendors in Tourism Supply Chain with the cooperation of some of other women organisations in near future in Turkey.

We-as BPW Turkey is going to mediate Turkish Government and ITC to realise the event of Global Platform for Action on Sourcing from Women Vendors in 2014 or 2015 in Turkey.
