With over 30 years of experience, OPITO supports the oil and gas industry around the world with offices in Aberdeen, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Houston.
The BIG Events team were tasked with creating a flagship event for OPITO which formed part of the overall communications plan for increasing OPITO’s global brand awareness.
our brief
BIG created and managed the OPITO Safety & Competence Conference in Abu Dhabi in 2010 and 2011, and are currently working on the 2012 event.
what we did
BIG developed and delivered successful conferences in 2010 & 2011. Ongoing liaison with the internal project team, regular site visits to Abu Dhabi coupled with attention to detail ensured that both events ran extremely smoothly and exceeded the targets set by OPITO.
what we did
BIG secured high profile industry sponsors and speakers for each event.Lord Cullen (author of The Cullen Report into the Piper Alpha disaster) delivered the keynote speech in 2011.
BIG created the conference brand and promoted this internationally via the creation of a dedicated website and securing important media partnerships with appropriate trade publications.
end result
The 2010 event reached the target of 200 delegates from 15 countries. The objective in 2011 was to increase this to 300 from 20 countries and the outcome was 350 registrations from 23 countries.
BIG is now working on the 2012 conference, with the additional target of promoting and selling an exhibition to the event, continuing the strong working partnership that has been in place for over 6 years.
BIG secured excellent international press coverage for both events and OPITO has seen a 150% increase in its international business.
