  • 3. Step 1: The Application
    • Download the CHSE application from www.hsmaicertifications.org .
    • Fill out and total your points to determine if you qualify to apply now.
    • Pay your application fee, which includes eLearning sessions (you can pay the exam fee at the same time if you wish).
    • Submit to Kathy Tindell at [email_address] .
    • If approved, youll get a link to begin the 3 eLearning sessions required, and a copy of the study guide.
  • 4. Important To Know: Achievement of the CHSE Certification tells your clients that you have agreed to accept a professional Code of Ethics. Your clients can trust not only in your expertise but in your integrity.
  • 5. Competencies An individual who attains his/her CHSE will have embraced new skills and ideas and have become a master in each of these competencies:
  • 6. Step 2: The eLearning
    • HSMAI has partnered with Master Connection Associates (Cindy Novotny, Managing Partner) to offer 3 outstanding eLearning one-hour sessions as part of the certification process.
    • Each will help you improve your knowledge and sales skills. At the end of each is a mini-quiz.
  • 7. Step 3: The Study Guide
    • The CHSE Study Guide will prepare you to take the exam, but it is also a comprehensive guide to the sales process and will be a valuable resource to you for years to come.
    • You may want to set up study groups with colleagues. Additionally, HSMAI and Cindy Novotny, Master Connection Associates, will be offering a recorded webinar you can access to help you with mastering the material.
  • 8. Step 4: The Exam
    • Pay the exam fee if you have not already done so.
    • The CHSE Exam is online. You can take it whenever you are ready, 24/7.
    • 50 multiple choice questions are pulled at random from a question bank of 150. You will have one hour to complete it; you cannot pause the exam or log out and log back in later, so be sure no one interrupts you!
  • 9. Step 5: The HVS 20/20 Assessment After passing the online exam, the applicant will complete the CHSE process by taking the HVS 20/20 Assessment online. This is a private, confidential assessment of sales strengths and weaknesses and, along with an included counseling session with an HVS professional, will give the new CHSE tools to bring his/her performance, and value to his/her organization, to the next level.
  • 10. Step 6: Your CHSE Certification!
    • Upon completion of the process, including the pre-qualification, eLearning, passing score on exam, and HVS Assessment, your certificate and pin will be mailed to you, and you will have the right and privilege of using the initials after your name on all correspondence, business cards, etc.
    • You will be universally recognized as a top professional in the field of hospitality sales, and a valuable asset to your employer!
