When you look at the customers that you serve in your fitness business, what do you see? Do you see two groups of people?

On one side, do you see a group of people that you love to serve? They're passionate about what you're offering and you love working with them.

On the other side, do you see a group of people who came to your business and you took them on because you needed their money?

Or maybe your customers are such a mix that it's hard to see a common niche and market among the group.

That's how it was for me in the beginning, and then I found "Trifecta of marketing".

It's your time to optimize your marketing and fill your business with people you love working with.

And it starts with dialing in who you're trying to serve using the Trifecta of Marketing - this is the tool that will help you do just that.

When you break it down, the Trifecta of Marketing is comprised of three big circles:

#1: Your Market – Who you want to serve?

#2: Your Message – What you are going to say and broadcast out to the world?

#3: Your Media – How and where you are placing your marketing?

Right in the middle where these three circles intersect is that sweet spot where your marketing is optimized. If you can dial in that sweet spot, your marketing is going to pop like crazy. You'll be reaching the people you want to reach with the message that's going to interest them in the places that they're going to see it.

What's the trick of finding the sweet spot?

Start breaking things down. Take each of these pieces of the Trifecta one at a time. Today, let’s look at YOUR Market.

The first order of business is to narrow your target market down to the ideal tribe/audience you want to serve so that you're not getting lost in all the noise, hence avoiding the big marketing mistake., which is trying to talk to everyone.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot before the race has begun. From a business and marketing perspective, this is a lazy approach that won't pro-vide a useful answer. And can sink your business.

Do you have an unlimited budget to go out there and market to everyone? Probably not. And in today’s markets if you can’t pinpoint and laser in on your client you will lose money placing ads in the wrong places and having the wrong eyeballs on your ads.

If you try to compete with everyone, and talk to everyone, you're in a race to the bottom.

And at the bottom there's nothing unique about what you're trying to offer.

Amongst all the noise, you don't have a specialty, you are not unique be-cause you haven't created that differentiation, and you'll have no chance to rise up as an expert in any area or niche. You are swallowed. Gone. Lost in the big sea of everybody else.

You don't want to be just another little fish in a big pond. You want the oppo-site.

But how do you get there? How do you become the big fish in a little pond so that your name, brand, message, product and services rise to the top of your chosen niche of the people you love serving? Be-cause that's the name of the game.

Here are some simple exercises for you.

Ask yourself: Who do you love to serve? Who is your unique tribe of people? What are their prob-lems, frustrations and what solutions are you going to provide them? How are you going to build your business around their aspirations and ambitions and help them create the transformations they want?

The key in why you want to discover whom your tribe is so that you can lead, corral and herd people to your business and circle your wagons around them and show them how to live the lives they want.

Your business it's not just about creating more products or services.

Instead, it's about bringing people together around a mis-sion or a movement. A purpose.

Ask yourself: Who are the people you are going to bring into this tribe? What do you want this niche to look like?

Because once you create the tribe, you are positioned to take the lead as their chief.

So who is your tribe? Who do you want to motivate? Who do you want to ele-vate? Think about it.

Maybe you like working with mothers. Great. But you need to be more spe-cific. Pregnant moms? Moms with infants? Stay at home moms? Executive moms?

The more specific you can be in identifying your tribe, the more specific

you can be in addressing and solving their problems and the better you can place your ads and make your programs speak right to your tribe.

If you can't identify your tribe’s unique problems, you can't iden-tify the unique solutions. And then you won't know what programs to create that will speak to your tribe. This practice of building your business more thoughtfully is about more than just selling more classes, more member-ships and more training sessions.

People are actively looking for solutions to their problems. That’s what you want to offer.

Do you like working with athletes? What kind of athletes? What age? Do you like working with youth athletes in high school or at the elementary school level? Would you prefer to work with Football players or Soccer players?

When you really narrow your niche around a tribe then you can really dig in and create the programs they need.

That’s how you become their expert.

That’s how you understand what your tribe is all about and what they are liv-ing through.

Be specific and narrow in identifying

your tribe.

You need to know what they're thinking and feeling. Only then will you be able to create the programs and services that speak directly to them.

Think about how much fun it could be to create what your tribe wants and needs, instead of being stuck in the sameness of doing another training ses-sion.

Nope, now you are going to be creating and delivering programs and products that your market wants, needs, is begging for. And that means you are helping to make their dreams come true because you know what their dreams are. All because you've put the time and thought into creating something to make their dreams a reality.

It's time to raise your marketing game beyond a simple understanding of demographics.

That’s “JV” marketing. “Varsity” marketing is about the psychology of who, when, where and what your unique market needs so they will buy.

If you want to take your offers deep into fulfilling your market’s needs you need to know and ask yourself: What are your people interested in? What are their hobbies? What are their politics, their religions, and their thought proc-esses? It's time to move past their income levels and their locations and get more into their minds.

Discover what your tribe is struggling with, what they hope to achieve and the roadblocks in their way. Then solve them.

What opportunities can you make available to them to help them achieve their goals in say the next twelve months? Can you create solutions that will help them reach their goals? More importantly, how can you figure out what it is that they want?

You need to go to the source. Go to the people and ask them.

What have they tried in the past? What were their success rates with different programs? You need to collect the research that will help you dig deep into their problems so you can start to build the solutions and do things different than what they’ve tried from your competitors. Differentiation wins in the mar-ket.

Define who are you trying to serve. It

can't be everyone.

You might be thinking to yourself, 'I have ideas for 5 different tribes right now!' No. This is the mentality that will slip you right back in to being a little fish in a big pond.

How many tribes do you think you can serve before you are spreading yourself and your messages too thin?

Focus on serving one, maybe two tribes, at the most.

Right now, you need to commit the next couple of years to understanding your tribe. With one or two tribes, you can dig in and penetrate the market. Get your voice heard.

By keeping your focus consistent over time and making your message clear and specific, you won't have to sell yourself because you'll already have made a name for yourself.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? But in order for people to come flocking to you, you need to do the ground-work. You need to figure out who it is you want to be serving. Who are you willing to commit the next couple of years of your life to helping?

You have the opportunity to help people become their best selves.

You can help communities of people improve. You can do this by being of service to others. Let's make sure you're creating the business strategies necessary so that your efforts are a success. Discover your tribe and lead them to a better future.
