General and Educational.
These are take away ideas only, not advice. Your financial planner & accountant are your advisors for your specific circumstances.
The Business Dream
Why did you go into business?
Source: 2012 Shirlaws Business Coaching Survey of US/UK small business owners
59% Be my own boss. 50% Desire to pursue a business idea. 50% Financial ambition. 44% Frustrated with how big companies operate. 35% Took advantage of marketplace opportunity.
The Business Breakdown
Is your passion to build or sell? Are you a Marketing or Salesperson? Are you a Product or Service person?
Use other peoples
Hire people to sell
Sell other peoples product
Source suppliersto build
Build/deploy systems that sell
Hire people to build
Financial anxiety spectrum
Prioritise bills to pay next based on supplier aggression.
Adjusting budget for cashflow & not strategic reasons.
Credit cards, Loans, Co-investors.
Woke up one day and I was in the business of capital raising
Owners funding shortfalls.
Checking bank balances often.
Asking friends & family for $s
Can handle financial set backs with surplus.
Enough cash to last 3+ years.
So much money you need to get it out of the company
Paying lots of tax
Exhausted all possibilities
Lying, ignoring, and denial.
Why do stuff you hate?
LOVE of doing
MECHANICAL TURKS Inexpensive tasks, hard to automate that you and your people dont like doingSYSTEM AUTOMATE Expensive task that have high automation ROI
YOUHard or expensive to automate and you enjoy doing it.
YOUR PEOPLEHard/expensive to automate. You dont want to do it. KEY is employ people that love to.
HAVE NO EMPLOYEES? Your doing everything because you cant afford employees then your objective is to make an affordable hire to leverage you and your idea. They take on the job you hate the most. Watch the passion flood back.

Depression kills people and passion
Emotional roller coaster. Downs create the ups. Relativity and perspective. Gratitude is an antidote.
Ego isnt a cause of success. Ego can be used to complete or reward. Don't use the business for flash money. Dont fall for vanity metrics. Materialism removes passion.
RESULT Clarity. Compliance. Cashflow.
MUST GET Real time business financial system. Accountant, banker & bookkeeper. Access to credit. Cash is King.
Theres no getting around it. Breakdowns will be present when financials are broken.
Morning ritual Got to want it at your core Game participation. Dont watch from the stands. Doing the same thing in a different fun way.
Open your day with gratitude. Owning your day means you create your committments. Its always too easy to not exercise, not get up early.

order and clarity quality over quantity write, film or speak epics distractions, focus, exploring vs doing big todo lists are a task clutter, task hoarding
crafting curating artisan science
Success is a quiet journey of many small actions.
Accountability is about integrity. Doing what you say, plan, set as goals. Without that nothing works.
Selling & Marketing
Managing Sales and marketing is like Portfolio Management.
Cost Per Unit
Acquisition Cost Per Unit
Get into flow
Tasks align to skill set Doing stuff you love Mindfulness and focusing on a task Pack it in - time flies when in doing flow
Gaming, sport, art can cause you to drop into it in a subconscious state. Act without thought. This state is enjoyable. It cant exist otherwise.
no is a liberation of time. no is your day your way. curation is saying no. saying no to more.
To find the win say no all the time.
Buffet knows how to say no!
Steps; test decision > scrutinise > cost/benefit > risk/reward > ethics > decide.
Making good decisions not doing lots of work. Eliminate (people fuelled) change is bad culture. Iterate your strategy quickly if its not working. Being stuck in the past. Past strategy, past
plans, past beliefs.
The sweetness of a system doing the work.
Even if its a person. I enjoy seeing scripts go to a voice artist for $50.
Love videos teaching people instead of employees explaining it for the 50th time.

People say you should/could be XYZ People convince you their way, their
journey, their standard is right. People cant see your vision, its yours
alone UNLESS you communicate it to yourself, your team, partners, customers and the market. Enrol all in your vision.
