People need a compelling reason to follow.

A vision is a picture of a desired future that your team see themselves in.

Link the organisation vision to a team vision - and then link the team vision to an individual vision.

4 What coaching model is best?

A proven coaching model for achieving systematic progress aligns strategy, leadership and management processes to get people to where they need to be.

You can assist individuals to fast track their success by asking the right questions that result in long-term growth. The following 8 step coaching model is easyto understand, easy to implement and can produce excellent results.

Step 1involves you developing trust and rapport with individuals (coachees) in order to develop a genuine understanding of the issues and a trusting relationship.

Steps 2 to 7require you to ask a logical sequence of questions where you apply the right balance of pressure and support to achieve the desired results.

Step 8reminds you to acknowledge the results or achievements of coachees, energising them to perform to even higher standards.

Communicate each person's roles and responsibilities clearly, and connect these to your plans.

Also, stay visible by practicing leadership by walking around. (Stay connected with daily activities, and allows you to answer questions as they arise.)

KEY #4 BUILD TRUST BASED RELATIONSHIPS

As a transformational leader, you need to focus your attention on your people, and work hard to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Meet your people individually to understand their developmental needs , and help them to meet their career goals.

Set aside time to coach your people. When you help them find their own solutions, you not only create a skilled team, but you also strengthen their self-confidence and their trust in you.
