Investment Options Melina

Avacade Investments is offering clients the opportunity to invest in Melina (Gmelina arborea) a highly sought after and fast growing wood popular throughout Central America.

Melina has a higher density than Oak and is used extensively for building materials and furniture. The wood has a creamy white colour and this clinical appearance makes it the wood of choice for the food packaging industry. The Melina is planted in Costa Rica, a perfectly suited environment for the species.

Sapling TeakAvacade Investments is offering clients the opportunity to invest in one of the most valuable of all hardwoods, Teak, or Tectona Gran dis.

Teak is a tropical tree renowned for its grain quality that produces durable hardwood used extensively in furniture; house building, and yachts. Growing demand for teakwood, coupled with limited international supply, suggests that increases in teak prices should continue steadily. The teak trees are purchased at sapling age so this is an investment suited to the long-term investor (25 years). Avacade Investments's Sapling Teak is located in Sri Lanka, which is firmly back on the map for ethical investors.

Teak, with its substantial oil content, naturally protects itself from many elements such as insects, bacterial diseases, fungi, and excessive dry or wet conditions. However, as with any wood the tree is at an increased risk during the early months and years of growth. To counter this Avacade Investments can offer established teak trees for investment that are already 15 years old growing on an established plantation in Borneo, Malaysia.
