DESCRIPTION

Healthy Entrepreneur, Healthy Business As a solo entrepreneur, if you are not healthy and you are constantly sick, your business can’t grow. If you are not working, neither is your business. If you are unable to work, your business stands still and you could lose valuable business and clients. It is imperative that you stay healthy. In spite of the amazing advances in medical technology the world, and that means you and I, are getting sicker. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity and the neuro-degenerative disease are on the increase. Billions of rands are being spent annually on treating the effects of bad lifestyle choices. In this ‘in your face, no holes barred presentation’ Dr Kevin Lentin will show us the 4 factors that are the culprits of this health scourge and also show you what you can do to avoid becoming a health statistic. About our Guest Speakers: Dr Kevin Lentin, Chiropractor and Integrated Medicine Fundi B.Soc. Sc. (Natal), D.C. (USA), Dip. Appl. Clin. Nut. (Aust.), Emergency Care Practitioner (EMS College, Cape Town) Dr Lentin graduated from the University of Natal in 1976 with a Bachelor of Social Science Degree, majoring in psychology. After spending six years working in the retail world he decided to follow his true passion, that being natural health care, and moved to the United States to study Chiropractic, graduating from Life Chiropractic College, Cum Laude, in 1984. In 1985 he opened his practice in Cape Town and in 1991 co-founded the first truly multidisciplinary health centre in South Africa. His fascination for the nutritional sciences led him to complete his Diploma in Applied Clinical Nutrition, from the Academy of Nutrition, in Sydney, Australia. For 25 years Dr Lentin has focused his practice on the principles of 'Functional Medicine', incorporating his skills in the musculo-skeletal, nutritional and psycho-emotional realms to offer patients an integrated and holistic approach to health care. As a natural progression from this Kevin has developed skills in Health and Lifestyle Coaching, to share the 'gems' of his 29 plus years of clinical experience to help as many people as possible to reach their optimum potential in all facets of their lives.

There's no doubt that some genes do lead inevitably to disease. "But for most people, a healthy lifestyle trumps inherited risk," says cardiologist Donald Lloyd-Jones, MD, Chair of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine "Even if a disease runs in your family, there's a lot you can do to avoid it."
