Have a Book Launch Party

How about hosting a book launch party in your community? It doesn’t have to be an expensive endeavor. Ask your favorite restaurant if they’ll host it for you and provide a couple of platters of appetizers.

Once you’ve got the location secured, you can invite all your current clients and close friends. Of course you will need an appropriate number of books on hand to sign for people.

Make sure you use this time wisely by helping people network and letting everyone know about your products and services.

Get Past the Gatekeeper

If your business involves trying to make appointments to see business people in person, you know how hard it can be to get past the gatekeeper sometimes. Now, you can use your book to easily get past the gatekeeper.

Here’s How: Make a list of 20 ideal customers. I mean “pie in the sky” ideal I-would-love-to-have-this-person-as-my-client ideal customers. Spend some time researching who they are, where they work, their address, their titles and so on.

Then send them each a copy of your book via courier with a nicely written cover letter requesting a meeting. Would you agree this method is better than sending an email? How often do emails get replied to? Not very often. This method will get you noticed!

Give it Away for FreeHave a picture of the front cover of your book prominently displayed on your website and say “Ask me how to get a free copy of my book. Call 555-1212”

You know how on your website you can make an image link to something? Have your front cover image go right to the salespage on Amazon so if people click on it, they will see that your book is available on Amazon. They will be impressed!

If you don’t know how to do this yourself, ask your webmaster to do it or you can hire someone on fiverr.com for $5. Make sure the link to Amazon opens to a new page so that they can easily go back to your website. The key is to get people to call you to claim their free copy of your book so that you can have a conversation with them and see if your products and services would be a good fit for them.

Can you see how easy it is to leverage your book into an amazing marketing tool? Your book does not have to be long and it does not have to be award-winning. It just needs to get out of your head and onto the paper so that you can start using it to grow your business.

You may be thinking, “OK this all sounds fine and dandy Suzanne, but how do I actually go about writing a book???” I have a solution for that. I have put together an instructional webinar where I teach you exactly how to write a book.
