• Your LinkedIn profile picture can be as large as 4MB in size and can be in the following file formats: JPG, GIF, and PNG.

• Make sure your photo is at least 80 x 80 pixels.

• Your profile picture cannot be of a cartoon, symbol, drawing or any content other than a photograph of yourself.

• LinkedIn is very different from Facebook - don’t use similar profile photos you use on your Facebook.

TIPS ON CREATING A POWERFUL LINKEDIN HEADLINE:

• Your headline is by default your current position in the company you’re working for and your location. You can edit your headline on your profile page itself.

• Use attractive but relevant symbols to summarize and show off your headline.

• Use keywords when optimizing your headline. This is to enhance the likelihood of you being found on LinkedIn.

• To increase your credibility, you must ensure that the “Experience” section on your LinkedIn profile is complete.

• Include your current and previous job details to show off your expertise and skills.

• Don’t use a bunch of paragraphs to form an essay in describing your job experiences – less clutter, the better.

• Customize your public URL by using your name for you to be easily found in LinkedIn’s search engine and even on other major search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

• Aside from that, you can also easily add it to your email signature (work or personal), business cards and resume.

• On your profile page, click the “Edit Profile” button.

• Once your profile is already on “edit” mode, click the link “Edit” next to your current public profile URL.

• After clicking, you will be directed to a different Edit page that lets you control how you appear in public search results.
