HOW TO PROMOTE NETWORKING EVENTS
Networking events can be difficult to plan and promote. Just a little thinking outside the box and hard
work can deem it to be a success, and the end result can be sometimes mind-blowing. As a general rule,
projects require a few steps in order to achieve one’s goal. It may take a little more time than expected,
but planning ahead can always prove to be beneficial in the long run. As you follow the strategies below
and set clear objectives, the event will be off and running in no time at all.
There are numerous ways to promote networking events and one popular way is to use print advertising
such as newspapers or magazines. It’s a great targeting option if you choose to focus the advertising
within the city it’s being held or limiting it to a certain industry which is closely linked to the event in
question. And, don’t shy away from good ‘ol paper fliers. Hang them up, pass them around, stuff them
under windshields. Even if they’re eventually thrown away, someone has to look at them first before
they’re trashed and the event and/or lingers in one’s mind.
Another popular tip is utilizing email marketing. The first step to this approach is checking all of you
email accounts. Yahoo, Gmail, MSN, etc. and send emails to everyone. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter
if you think those people will attend or not, the entire point is
that you spread the word. If the recipients aren’t interested,
they will still think of you as trustworthy and not consider it
spam. They may even forward it to their contacts to give you
hand!
Radio and TV advertising sometimes seems outdated and a bit
old-fashioned, but you will be surprised by how many people with aspect of promotion will bring
to networking events. A plethora of professionals and rookies alike still watch television and listen to
radio believe it or not. Sometimes, your message can be reached subconsciously with a catchy tune or
jingle and help them to remember it.As the attendees sign in or sign up, take note of how they heard of the
event, you’ll be surprised at the numbers who answer to television or radio promotion.
Leveraging social media tools has got to be the number one way to attract people.
Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are just a few of the most frequented and at an alarming rate, too.
Without this sort of promotion, you probably won’t attract the kind of people you’re looking to bring in.
Find your targeted audience, pin, post and tweet away. There are dozens of social media tools available at
your fingertips every second of the day.
Nearly every kind of networking events can be undertaken seriously once they are divided into clear
steps of promotion. The rest follows without flaw. With the power and ability to spread the word and
increased awareness, your goals will be accomplished quickly and easily.
