Feature Overview
Caching the various records on your web store is essential to keep it updated at all times. Caching updates prices, SKU quantities, images, categories, discounts, etc. in the temporary memory and reflects changes on the web store.
The web store application uses longer caching durations to avoid loading the database unless absolutely needed. This ensures that the application can scale adequately as more visitors hit your website. Smaller cache durations could impact web store performance.

Manage cache durations via the Manager PanelThe cache durations for all the record types are configurable and the Store Manager may set the cache durations as per his business needs. For example, the cache duration for price updates for SKUs could be set for 2 hours, while that for images could be set for 48 hours so that the database is not loaded with images unnecessarily, impacting the overall performance of the web store. Cache durations can be modified at any time via the Manager Panel.

Recycle a web store manuallyThere might arise business scenarios such as during the holiday season or revamping the entire product catalog, when the Store Manager may want the changes reflected on the web store immediately. Instead of waiting for the scheduled caching cycle to run or request the IT team for an IIS reset, he can recycle the web store’s cache with the click of a button via the Manager Panel. This would first drain all the existing cache and run a warm up process restoring all cache back into memory and displaying the changes on the web store.
