Push Factors

The reasons I want to leave Myrtle Beach and move to New York are mainly because of

climate, independence, education, work endeavors, and new experiences.

In New York, the weather is colder and it snows a lot. In Myrtle Beach, it is hot most of the time and we might get an inch of snow every four years.

I have always wanted to be on my own, and I have always wanted to go to New York. I think leaving home and moving to New York is a good way to find myself and be independent.

The main reason I am moving to the big apple is because of my education. I plan on going to NYU with a major in music.

My dream job is to be on Broadway in musical theatre.

I think moving to New York will let me experience new things, and it could give me a lot of stories to tell to my kids one day.

Location

I plan on moving to Weehawken New Jersey, this is a small town only seventeen minutes outside of Manhattan. The absolute location of my new home is 140 Oak St. Apt. 4, Weehawken, NJ 07086.

Pull Factors

Some of the reasons I want to move to New York is because I plan on going to school at NYU. Another reason is because it is one of the few places in the world that I have always wanted to live. I also believe that it is the greatest city in the world and I wouldn’t mind starting a life there. Last but not least, it has a really great view!

At NYU, I plan to major in music. Since I’m living at home and not in a dorm, my tuition would be $49,237 a semester. But with a scholarship of $22,324 for the average freshmen at NYU, my tuition is only $27,612 a semester.

Demographics

The demographics of New York City are evidence of a large and ethnically diverse metropolis. It is the largest city in the United States with a population defined by a long history of international immigration. With a 2011 population of 8,244,910 New York is the most populous city in the United States, more than twice the size of the second largest city, Los Angeles.

The age distribution in New York is 4 -85. There are approximately 375,000 more women than men in New York.

Because of its diverse community, I think it’s a great place to start your life.

Local Economy

The economy of New York City is the biggest regional economy in the United States and the second largest city economy in the world after Tokyo.
