Ryan Harris Evaluation Create a media product of our own choice. I chose to create a blog and produce a variety of photos, I chose to do a photography project and post my photos onto an online blog because I love working with cameras to capture creative images to share with people I know. At this point I still did not know what I wanted my photos to be about, so I did some research and looked at different types of photography and which types appealed to me the most. There were three types of photography that I found the most interesting and creative. There was Haduken, levitation and light photography. Once I had decided what types of photography to use I had to come up with a theme for my project, as the types of photography I wanted to use were very creative I chose to base my project around people with supernatural powers. I was then asked to create a name for my project. So I started to think about what name would best suit my project and ideas for my photos. I came up with the name “The world of the supernatural”.

Evaluation Create a media product of our own choice. There were three types of photography that I

found the most interesting and creative.

Once I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do for my project I had to get some set ideas and put them into a proposal, this would be the structure that I would compare my final project with. At first I needed to think of whom we wanted our target audience to be, I decided that I would aim for mostly teenagers and young adults because I could come up with a much more creative and fun product for teenagers and young adults rather than thinking of one for an older generation such as a middle aged adults. I started

to think about my project more and after lots of over thinking I decided to attempt to produce 5-10 photos, each photo will include somebody posing a supernatural ability. I will then post the photos onto a blog with an explanation on how I produced them. I thought this would be a good idea as I don’t think anybody in my class is doing the same thing as me so it will make my project look unique, therefor creating attention.

After I had thought of all of my ideas I decided to put them into a Prezi to make it look more dynamic and professional, this is what I had created.

These are the photos I have taken, I took these specific photos because I think that they would have been the easiest to produce and they correspond with my project the best. I wanted these photos to look as realistic as possible and I believe that I have made my photos as realistic as I can.

Here is a step by step tutorial of how I edited one of my photos.

First I had to import the original photo that I had taken into Adobe Photoshop

Once I had chosen my file I started to edit my photo. First of all I had to unlock my layer so that I could make changes to the photo. I did this by double clicking the ‘padlock’ on the layer I was using.

I then wanted to change the colour and contrast of my photo, so I clicked on the gradient tool at the left of the page.

At the right side of the page there is a box with adjustment options, I clicked on the brightness tool first.

Once you click on the brightness setting it adds a layer to your photo and this box comes up, I then adjusted the brightness and contrast to suite me.

I then wanted to change the Hue/Saturation of my photo, so I did the same as what I did with the brightness and adjusted it to my preference.

I believe that I made my photos look very realistic as I used props to help me, I also believe that I edited them fairly well. But I think that there isn’t enough variety in my photos E.g. location, type of photo, clothing used. If I had to do this project again I would put more thought into my photos and try to wear costumes to make my photos look even more believable. I would try to think of ideas straight more quickly as I couldn’t think of any ideas quickly so I got off to a slow start meaning I had rushed some things to get them finished. I then created a blog to display my photos so that anybody that was researching Haduken or light photography

they would come across my blog and hopefully I could help them out.

This is what my blog looks like, I chose my profile picture and my background so that it links in with my project. I have uploaded my photos so that anybody can see them for ideas on projects they might have.

My main weakness was time. It took me a while to finally decide what I wanted to do for my project so there was a lot of catching up I had to do. One strength would be that I am pleased with how my photos came out, especially once I had edited them. If I were to do my project again I would plan my time out better to make it easier for myself so that I don’t have to rush some of my work to get it all done. I would spent more time doing my photos, so that I could wear costumes and use more props to make it all look a little more realistic.
