Media evaluation

The establishment and disruption of equilibrium has been shown in my trailer narrative, representing parts of Todorov’s theory. It starts off with an establishing shot of London to give a feeling of equilibrium to the audience. The equilibrium is then disrupted when the three male characters in my trailer are shown standing over a figure lying on the floor, looking intimidated checking if it’s alive, the figure gets up and starts chasing them and trying to kill them with a knife. As it is a teaser trailer the equilibrium isn’t restored because it would be giving away too much narrative.

Media evaluationThe ways in which I have used titles in my trailer develops forms and conventions of real media products in the genre of horror. An example could be my trailer, Vendetta Face compared to Halloween 2007.

This shows that the titles in my trailer compared to the titles shown in Halloween’s trailer are of similar content and font style, which gives the audience an insight into the narrative. The reason being my titles look basic and white on a black background is because of the time limit I had to make everything and the mistake I made of leaving everything till the last minute.

The institutional logos I made are of the production company names ‘A.E Productions’, which is my production company working as a joint venture in association with one of my class mates company, ‘Al-Bashir Pictures’.
