The Tropical rainforest is very wet. Rain falls nearly every day. The total rain fall per year is between 1500 and 2500mm. The air is very humid because of some of the high temperatures the rainforest sometimes get. The air is so humid it fills about 70% of the air.

The temperature in the day is between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius. During the night it is between 20 and 25 degrees. Tropical rainforests grow along the equator so they are in a hot climate. Temperate rainforests grow in other places and tropical rainforests get more rain than temperate ones.

The Tropical Rainforests need to grow in warm places so they grow along the equator. Some of the continents include Central and South America, Central Africa and Southern Asia.

One well known tropical rainforest is called the Amazon Rainforest and is located in the upper section of South America. These countries have smaller rainforests: Southern China, North East Australia, India, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea.

Bengal BambooBengal Bamboo is found in the Southeast Asian Rainforest. The Bamboo does very well in a moist environment with lots of rain. It likes the temperature between 4 and 38 degrees Celsius. It can grow between 40 and 80 feet high. The colour is dark green and some types are sort of brown. The leaves are long and narrow. DID YOU KNOW?• That Bengal Bamboo is actually a grass.

Rainforest OrchidsRainfores t Orchids are found everywhere in the world but majorly in the rainforests. They come in many different colours, sizes and shapes. The Bucket Orchid is from Central America and it has small bucket on it (as says its name) that attracts bees. World-wide, there are over 25,000 different species of orchids. In the rainforest, orchids grow on tree branches and tree trunks. DID YOU KNOW? • The flavour vanilla come from the vanilla

Morpho ButterflyThe Morpho Butterfly is born as a brown-red caterpillar with patches on it’s back coloured lime-green. Their wingspan is between 13-17cm, with brown dots around the edge and bright blue wings. They only like it very humid and a temperature between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius. Spider MonkeySpider Monkeys live in South and Central America. The are omnivores and they are mammals. Their life span is between 20-30 years in the wild. Their size is between 14-26 inches or 35 to 66cm. Their weight is about 6 kg. If they are in a group, it’s called a troop. They spend much of their time swinging from tree to tree. They’re usually in groups of 30. Their diet is made up of 90% fruit and nuts, seeds, eggs and insects. DID YOU KNOW?• That their name was made after their look
