et’s suppose you are about to invest in Frotcom because you believe this

system will help your company remove inefficiencies, cut costs, improve

service and so forth. That’s just great. But you need to know what your return

on this investment (ROI) will be.

The ROI of an investment is calculated as:

A ROI above 1 means that you gain more than you spend. The higher the ROI,

the better, of course. It means you gain a lot more than what you invest.

So let’s start with the costs. The cost of Frotcom will vary, depending on the

exact tracking devices you choose and on the modules you activate. For

instance, Eco-driving or Interact messaging are specific modules in Frotcom,

which require activation before you can use them.

As for the gains, the most commonly referred after installing Frotcom are these

three:

Other benefits may be trickier to

calculate, either for being

intangible or because they

depend on variables hard to

estimate: Better business

planning, Enhanced security of

drivers, vehicles and cargo, and a Lower carbon footprint.

It is quite common to see ROIs of 5 or more with Frotcom. Fuel consumption alone

can reportedly drop by 5% or more due to better control of route executions,

better fuel management and better driving behaviour. That can represent huge

savings by the end of the month.

That is why Frotcom is clearly a good investment and it will pay for itself from day 1.

Frotcom now in Peru

Frotcom International and Boreas

Soluciones have recently embarked on a

partnership for the foundation of

Frotcom Peru.

Boreas Soluciones was created in early 2013 to provide strategic business

development services in Peru. By partnering with Frotcom International, Boreas

Soluciones consolidates its business with the addition of state-of-the-art

telematics services, adding new business opportunities for the company.

According to the International Business Times, “Peru is the unsung hero of Latin

America. With an economy on the rise and a stable government, the Andean

country has, slowly but surely, found its feet. And it looks like its rise is not

slowing anytime soon: International estimates predict that Peru will be the

second fastest-growing economy in Latin America in 2014.” Encouraged by these

favourable conditions Frotcom International and Frotcom Peru believe this is the

right time to introduce Frotcom to the Peruvian companies.

César Prieto, Managing Partner at Frotcom Peru

said that, “We are more than happy to participate in

the expansion of Frotcom in South America, and to

be part of the Frotcom team, who I had the

opportunity to meet personally in the last Frotcom

Annual Meeting held in Milan. Next year, we

certainly hope to be able to celebrate the success of

our commitment.”

Roadmap welcomes the Frotcom Peru team on board and wishes them

successful operations.

About Peru

Peru, officially the Republic of Peru, is a country in

western South America.

Peru is, as of 2011, one of the world's fastest-growing

economies owing to the economic boom experienced

during the 2000s.

Services account for 53% of Peruvian gross domestic

product, followed by manufacturing (22.3%),

extractive industries (15%), and taxes (9.7%). Recent

economic growth has been fuelled by macroeconomic

stability, improved terms of trade, and rising

investment and consumption.

Visualizing routes instead of legs

Frotcom gives you three forms of

visualization of routes and legs,

under the Routes folder:

Table view

Linear diagram

Gantt diagram

You can select if you want Frotcom

to show you the Route legs,

individually, or associated as Routes.

Just select your option in the title

bar:

Examples of different visualization:

- Show legs Each route leg is shown individually;

each vehicle is shown in one leg,

separately.

- Show routes All route legs are placed along a

common line; vehicles sharing a route

are placed also along that common

line.

Similarly, if you select Show routes,

the Table view and the Gantt diagram

will show the scheduled and executed

times, for the whole routes, instead of

the individual route legs.

Tip of the month!

Seat-belt reminder alerts in all car seats could save 900

lives a year

Nine hundred lives could be saved

across Europe every year if car

manufacturers put seat belt reminders

in the front and rear of all cars,

according to the European Transport

Safety Council.

The report “Ranking EU Progress on

Car Occupant Safety”, issued in the

end of April 2014, also mentions that

drink-driving and inappropriate speed

are still contributing to thousands of

deaths on European roads.

It says all European council member

states should consider introducing a

zero tolerance approach to drink-

driving for all drivers, and

recommends that 1 in 5 motorists

should be checked each year.

The report “Ranking EU Progress on Car Occupant Safety” is based on the analysis of EU data overseen by a panel of 32 road safety experts from across Europe.
