SIPPO, the Swiss Import Promotion Programme, is a mandate of
the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, SECO, within the
framework of its economic development cooperation. It is carried
out by Osec, the official Swiss foreign trade promotion agency.
The programme helps SMEs in developing and transition countries
to gain access to the Swiss and European markets by providing
information, training courses and other matchmaking services.
SIPPO also assists importers from Switzerland and the European
Union with finding suitable partners and high-quality products
from selected developing and transition countries.
The programme has five main goals:• To inform the Swiss and European import economy about new
market sources
• To strengthen trade institutions and business sector associa-
tions in the trade promotion process
• To increase the competitiveness of SMEs in selected partner
countries
• To develop the manufacturing and exporting skills of SMEs in
selected partner countries
• To establish qualified trade contacts between SMEs from
emerging markets and markets in transition and the Swiss and
European import economy

The Fostering Interventions for Rapid Market Advancement
(FIRMA) project, sponsored by the US Agency for International
Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development
and Cooperation Agency (Sida), is a five-year project that began in
September 2009 to support sustainable economic growth, em-
ployment expansion, and increased household incomes in Bosnia
and Herzegovina. FIRMA has principal offices in Sarajevo and
Banja Luka.
FIRMA’s overall goal is to help BiH improve “the capacity to cope
with competitive pressure and market forces within the European
Union”, a critical component of the Copenhagen Economic Criteria
for EU accession. FIRMA will do this by working with three sectors
of the BiH economy: light manufacturing/metal processing, wood
processing and tourism. Critical stakeholders include companies,
financial institutions, educational institutions, NGOs, and govern-
ment agencies.

Perfom is a small family owned company operating since 1942.
We produce perforated metal sheets, screens and other prod-

SANVI is a manufacturer of hydraulic equipment since 1991,
based out of Trstenik, the centre of hydraulics and pneumatics in
Former Yugoslavia. Starting out as a hydraulic service provider,

SLOVO has been in the business of marking since as far back as
1831, guaranteeing the highest quality of products. The company
produces street signs made of enamel, enamel technology known
to guarantee a long lifetime in polluted environments. SLOVO
also produces high precision tools for industrial marking made
from alloy steels of high hardness to 60 HRC, including tools for
labeling steel, brass, wood, rubber, leather, cardboards and other

VBS is the largest Serbian producer of non-ferrous metal semi-
products. Our main activity is the fabrication of copper and cop-
per alloys by rolling, extrusion and drawing into standard semi-
products. Our semi-products are manufactured and delivered in
accordance with EN, DIN, ASTM, GOST, BS, NF and other world
standards. In our workshops we cast and process several types
of pure phosphorus-deoxidized copper and copper-zinc alloys –
two- and three-component brasses (leaded brass and special tin,
aluminum and nickel brass) or multi-component Si, Al, Fe, Mn and
copper-nickel alloys (up to 5% Ni). The majority of our production
is exported to foreign markets, mostly to Western Europe.

Vojvodina Metal Cluster (VMC) was founded in October 2011 as a
non-profit and non-partisan association of metal sector companies
from Vojvodina, Serbia, with EU IPA support.
As of February 2012 Vojvodina Metal Cluster already counts 86
members (69 companies and 17 supporting organizations), which
together employ around 4300 employees and have a combined
turnover of EUR 240 Million. The member supporting organizations
consist of universities, regional chambers of commerce, develop-
ment agencies, associations, and so forth.
