A Few Thoughts on Innovation

It is all about change...

...and even he cries throughout the process !

This is the only human who likes change

...and even he cries throughout the process !

Innovation is about Speed & Capacity

It always has been!

A meeting of canal owners debate the threat of the steam train !

Why would coal want to travel @ 60mph?

We paid for our progress with destructive ‘food-to-waste’ cycles !

Transforming raw materials into products to be buried later is unsustainable...

Mother nature does ‘food-to-waste-to-food’....and so should we if we want a sustainable future

...and this begs the question, “could we do the same?”

The only potential to do this is with technology that sits at the juncture of....

ITC

NanoBio

The new industrial

revolution sits here

FTTH/FTTO and The Cloud

To participate we need high speed connectivity + access to computational power...

And globally distributed facilities and people...

So, what makes innovation fly ?

A good idea A good leader & a good team

A seductive business plan

Supportive investors

And receptive customers!

Big Problem Desperation Lots of Money & Panic

What stops innovation ?

Old minds Old industry Short Termism Destructive investors

You need a visionaries and risk takers...

...but there is a fine line between calculated risks and doing something really dumb!
