Birch Green Care Home, Skelmersdale.Set in extensive landscaped gardens, Birch Green Care Home provides high quality nursing and residential care for 74 older people within a warm, homely environment.Dedicated, highly skilled staff provide a wide range of person centred services including:         respite care         nursing care         residential care         care for people with dementia         end of life care         day care

The purpose built home, which first opened in 1990 and came under Springhill management ten years later in October 2000, has undergone extensive refurbishment and the addition of an extra wing.

Birch Green is proud of its holistic, person centred approach to care and the people we support are encouraged to make the most of an extensive social programme drawn up by its permanent activities co-ordinators. Entertainment includes regular concerts, tea dances, quizzes, discussions and outings to local places of interest.

A committed staff team - whose members are all encouraged to undergo extensive ongoing training - achieved the prestigious Investor in People award in September 2001.

Residents can relax in their comfortable single rooms or in attractive communal lounges and a sunroom on the ground floor. For those who enjoy the fresh air, there are pleasant patio areas outside in the gardens.

Situated just one mile from the centre of Skelmersdale and on a main bus route, it is convenient both for visitors and the nearby Concourse shopping centre, where able residents regularly enjoy escorted visits.
