� Challenge:

It’s a matter of life and death!

If you are conducting a cli-nical trial in 6 countries, then the communication materials need to be signed off by 6 separate commit-tees. This can have a big impact on the deadlines. Most ethics committees meet only once a month or once every two months, so you have to factor this into the timelines.

� Solution:

It was carried out as usual by a team of in-country translators with extensive knowledge of the medical terminology and with years of experience in the trans-lation of clinical question-naires. This helped minimize any risks from inaccurate translations or inconsist-ency in translations. Swiss Solutions automated some of the most common trans-lation tasks involved across this clinical trial translation project (including trans-lation of repeat content, terminology and glossary management, and usage of Translation Memory) to di-minish overall costs.

Editors with solid back-ground in the legislation of clinical trials ensured the quality of the documents from beginning to end. Even minor changes made by the reviewers were sent back to the original translators for their approval before the files were submitted to the Ethics Committees.

Translations were delivered on time in accordance with the date when the Ethics Committees were meeting – there were no delays.Clinical trial protocols were written in a clear, concise and accurate style so that any ambiguity was prevent-ed and patient recruitment targets were exceeded.Today we translated all the essential documents of a clinical trial – the Clinical Trial Protocols, Investiga-tor’s Brochures, Subject Information and Informed Consent Forms, Clinical Study Reports and Case Re-port Forms.

Assisted in the standardiza-tion of the clinical protocol documents for particular language combinations, streamlined the clinical tri-al process, and accelerated the conducting of deloca-lised clinical trial.
