The Top 50 Digital Power Players in #ukhousing
2014
During May , Paul Taylor and Shirley Ayres asked people with an interest in the housing sector to nominate people they regarded as digital influencers.
As well as votes we took into consideration influence measures PeerIndex and Klout and also online contributions through blogs and campaigns.
This is a list celebrating the diversity of people with an interest in housing who are using social media to connect , inspire and challenge.
This represents the new world of housing associations.

Best
Blogger
A very close run contest with some fabulous blogging this year – but Colin Wiles is the people’s
choice for his consistently insightful and challenging posts.
Super Connector
From #ConnectedHousing to the provocative posts of
@VisceralBiz , Anne McCrossan has challenged the sector to think
much more broadly about the nature of social business.
Social Superstar England
There could be only one.
Nick Atkin has emerged as the most influential CEO in the sector
for the way he has embraced innovation and challenged the
status quo.
Social Superstar
WalesWales has developed so many
strong social voices it could have had its own list.
Brett Sadler emerged as the peoples choice for his
enthusiastic support for the power of social to connect people
and communities.
Rising StarThe beauty of online influence is that anyone can become a power
player.
Michala Rudman made a huge splash on social media this year and impressed a lot of people
with her involvement with @councilhomechat
Digital Innovation
Thames Valley Homes has emerged as a leader in the
development of user focused technology.
The development of MyTVH – the online portal for residents – has been part of an integrated digital transformation rather
than a digital bolt on.
Jayne has generously shared her learning from the project.
Communications InnovatorYou must have been on Mars if
you missed the @CommsHero bombardment.
Asif and the guys at Resource have proved consistently
inventive in their use of social media to enhance offline
campaigns.
Asif has shaken up the tired old world of housing comms – and it’s
unlikely to ever be the same again.
Social Media Campaign
In a year when housing finally woke up to the power of online campaigns the runaway winner was Adrian Capon for starting it
all – with #HousingDay
Digital Innovator
Under the stewardship of Matt , HACT has emerged as the Innovation ‘Think Tank’ of
#UKHousing.
The sector has finally begun to realise the power of data to reshape services and that’s
largely down to Matt.
He also capped the year off with HouseParty – a genuinely
disruptive event for Generation C.
Thanks to everyone who took part
We’ll be back next year with #powerplayers15
