I want a proper full time business.Working full time there are plenty of opportunities. However, at Kids Bee Happy we believe that Full time should be normal full time. Not every waking hours, weekday and weekends. So our projections have all been based on working an average 35 hours a week.

We recommend that our full time franchisees aim to run 30 par-ties or events a month. Summer months give good opportunities for festivals, large family events and shows, and other places where you can expect to sell 100-150 cards to children. During the week-days and term-times, there are School and Nursery and Toddle activities and after school clubs, weddings, public events and fun days. Christmas also provides lots of good opportunities for large corporate events and Christmas parties. With a mixture of differ-ent size events this should create gross sales of £55,000 per year. After deducting stock and material costs, travel costs, expenses this leaves a profit of around £30,000 a year. Our forecasts also include paid wages for extra assistance at the larger events.

I really like this opportunity but I want to make it bigger and employ peopleThere are opportunities for Sand Art everywhere, and once you start your franchise you will see them. Once you have successfully your first three months you can apply for additional license territo-ries, purchase additional tables and equipment, and expand your business as much as you want.

Your EquipmentThe most important piece of equipment is the pair of Sand Art ta-bles. These have been specially commissioned with the two key goals of containing sand and minimising mess, and to be as por-table and easy to assemble for our franchisees as possible.

The tables are made from an acrylic that attracts the sand, minimis-ing the sand that falls onto the floor. We have incorporated barriers and dividers into the tables to prevent cross contamination of the sand. The bowls sit into the table, making it very easy for the chil-dren to reach and use the sand, and the bowls are big enough to ensure that children’s card sits into the bowl whilst they apply the sand. The legs of the tables easily detach for transport, and the ta-bles are specifically designed to fit within even the smallest of cars.All of this combines to ensure that as little sand is wasted as pos-sible. We won’t claim that it’s 100% mess free, however, we are con-fident in saying that it makes less mess than a party popper.

As well as the tables, other sand art equipment in your franchise package also includes all bowls, containers and spoons. We also include 2 collapsible stands for the display of the cards, and even the laminator.

What does the Franchise Package Include?

Ongoing Business SupportKids Bee Happy offers ongoing business and marketing support through our knowledgesharing forum exclusive to franchisees.

Training & SupportInitial training is provided with delivery of the equipment & materi-als. This training is usually sufficient and will cover all of the basics including how to put the equipment together and set it out, how to supervise and assist the children, and how to do Sand Art.

A manual will also be provided which includes lots of tips and ad-vice.

On the Franchisee only website there is also a knowledge shar-ing forum where franchisees can ask questions, discuss situations, communicate marketing successes and generally share knowl-edge and discuss problems and ideas in a safe and secure venue. As part of this, there is a dedicated forum for accountancy, tax and business advice.

Marketing MaterialsIn order to help you get your business up and running quickly we include in the franchise package 5000 personalised high quality postcard flyers, stickers, branded clothing, a 2metre pop up ban-ner,.

StockSome franchises only include a nominal amount of stock. At Kids Bee Happy we include 400 large sand art cards, and 250 small sand art cards, which adds up to a retail value of £2350. We also include 5kg of each of the 12 brightly coloured sands – which should last you for a minimum of one month.

Costs, Fees and the Small PrintThe cost of a Kids Bee Happy franchise is £2495+VAT. This includes all of the equipment, stock and marketing materials as mentioned, and it includes a license to operate Kids Bee Happy for 1 year for a specified territory which is usually set at 3 postcode areas (ie SO1, SO2, SO3) Sometimes we will offer a larger territory where the ge-ography is more rural.

Licenses are renewed annually, and the cost of the renewal is £250+VAT for your initial territory.

Additional postcode areas can be purchased after 3 months of trading, and these too are renewed at £250+vat.

There are no annual payments required based on profits or turn-over, or activity.

We require that all franchisees complete either a CRB check or a Disclosure check to verify that there are no issues with working with children. The cost of this check is between £50 and £65 de-pending on area, and this check will be separately charged. If you already have a valid CRB/Disclosure check from other employment, or voluntary activities, then we will be able to use this and will not request an additional check.
