History of Motley Magazine

● Motley Magazine was set up in 2006 by the UCC Journalism and Media Society. It took a sabbatical in 2008 and this is its 7th volume. Last year Motley was nominated for Best Magazine & People's Choice at the Smedias and Best Editor & Best Website at the SAAIs. If we all work together, we can turn those nominations into wins.

Aims of Motley

● Motley aims to show the best of UCC and by extension Cork. I am proud to be editor for the 7th volume of Motley and by right you should be proud to be a section editor too. It's all of our responsibility to ensure that every issue we put out is the best.

● As a student magazine, we have a duty to help our contributors improve, and actually have contributors.

● This is done by giving feedback to every single contributor and not ignoring emails of people who want to write. Feedback only needs be 2 lines, weakness, strength and a keep up the good work with a thank you.

Your Duties as A Section Editor

● With great power comes great responsibility and if you fulfil these duties without a reasonable explanation, well.

● Meet Deadlines

● Keep in touch with contributors

● Keep in touch with the editor

● Don't write the entire section yourself, editors edit and writers write.

● Give feedback to contributors

● Hold at least one section meeting an issue.
