Studio Profile

Approach –

Our core focus is to create visually arresting communications for our clients structured by the creative brief and the commercial requirement of the project.

We believe that gaining a genuine and objective understanding of our client’s business enables us to contextualise the job at hand effectively, which in turn empowers us to work towards a solution confidently and economically. We spend time getting to understand the brands we work for and the people within the brands, enabling us to produce relevant ideas and engaging design.

Disciplines –

We design for print, brand and screen, delivering branding and corporate identity projects, websites and moving image, design for print, art direction and exhibition design. Collaboration is at the core of what we do. We work closely with photographers, illustrators, technology developers, e-commerce consultants, PR agencies and copywriters. Each partner is carefully chosen to answer the requirements of a specific project brief. We manage our projects centrally at Six, ensuring our clients only ever have to deal with one relationship and one delivery plan although we are happy to work with our clients suppliers if required to do so.

Overview –

Six is an independent creative consultancy, providing design and art direction for brand, print and screen. We concentrate on strong ideas, solid research, clear strategic thinking and attention to detail. We develop collaborative relationships with our clients and partners to create original, distinctive work that engages users, satisfies clients and meets the high standards of innovation and creative excellence that are central to our studio practice. A group of six people with a collective track record for producing intelligent, engaging work for small enterprises to global brands. We’ve previously worked on projects in the UK and around the world for Nike, Land Securities, Puma, Urban Splash, Wembley Stadium, Hellovon, Clarks, Orange, Sony BMG, Lacoste, Speedo, Boxfresh, Portsmouth FC, Nokia, Volvo, Loake, Smule, Groove Effect, XLNT and Soane Britain.

Strategic Process –

Six combines creative criteria with problem-solving strategy to create and implement effective visual communication. We carry out the necessary research and analysis to create sound communication design with clearly stated goalsand objectives.

We are meticulous about the briefing process. In our experience, the most successful collaborations between the team and client are when all the information is on the table and expectations are in the open from the outset.

At what point in your career did you have to stop searching for work and just relied on it coming to you? That hasn’t happened yet! ! Also I have to say I don’t think you should ever do that in your career. If you do you’re just resting on your laurels and the reality is you’re only as good as the last job you do. If you want to create interesting work – you have to keep pushing yourself both within yourself and to other people!

Some people say I am too much of a self publicist, but I just love doing what I do and want people to see my work - so I can get the best work I can.
