What Is Smile?

• Smile is an age and content determination platform which prevents children from bypassing traditional age restriction measures. In addition, the Smile platform redirects underage users to more suitable positive content.• The Smile platform determines age using Project

Oxford (Face Identification and Speech Intent Recognition) to determine what age the user is. The determined age is compared to the age ratings of different types of contents such as film, apps, game and web using Miracle’s datasets and API’s such as BBFC, PEGI and JusProg

How Does It Work?If  You  Are  The  Correct  Age

1. User tries to play an age-restricted content

for facial and voice recognition

Where Can Smile Be Used?

• Provide Smile as a paid service to VOD platforms (B2B) such as Netflix and YouTube to allow age of user to be determined quicker.

• For instance, watching a age rated video on YouTube requires creation of Google Account to verify age. Creating a Google Account take 5 minutes, whereas Smile can determine age within 20 seconds.

• Mobile network providers such as Vodafone• Currently JusProg is used by Vodafone to

prevent children access age restricted websites. The service is called Vodafone Child Protect.

• By using Smile, all customers can be automatically added (B2C) as many parents may not know how to opt in. However, Smile can be removed easily after one step verification
