“The Pearl of Africa where north meets south. It is here that one gets to experience all of Africa in

one destination. “

In Eastern Africa, west of Kenya and east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It lies in the

heart of the Great Lakes region, and is surrounded by three of them, Lake Edward, Lake Albert,

and Lake Victoria. While much of its border is lakeshore, Uganda is landlocked with no access to

the sea.

Despite being on the equator Uganda is more temperate than the surrounding areas due to its

altitude. Most of the country is on a plateau with a rim of mountains. The climate is tropical;

generally rainy with two dry seasons (December to February, June to August). It is semiarid East

Sudanian savanna in north near Sudan.

Kilimanjaro (5,895 m), the latter (Kilimanjaro) of which is the highest point in Africa and possibly the most

breathtaking mountain imaginable. To the west of these peaks are Tanzania's finest national parks namely

Natron in the northeast to Lake Enyasi in the south, and Lake Manyara to the east. The area includes the still

active Ol-Ndoinyo Lengai, Olduvai Gorge and the Ngorongoro Crater that is home to an extraordinary

concentration and diversity of wildlife. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and has been

described as one of the great natural wonders of the world.

In southern Tanzania, there lies the greatest wild reserve and second only to Serengeti in wildlife concentration,

Selous National Park where Elephants, crocodiles and hippos in rivers and buffaloes dominate. Other southern

tropical fruits don’t miss out on Nakasero Market in the city center and St. Balikudembe( Owino) that has a

variety of goods ranging from second hand clothing with designer labels, bark cloth and other fetishes to food

stuff.

Entertainments/nightlife

This varies from sublime to spontaneous. In Kampala and larger towns, discos are en vogue including Ange

Noir Discotheque, Viper Room and Club Silk. Visit Pyramid, grand, Simba and Kampala Casinos that

also provide live bands and sumptuous cuisine. Cineplex Cinema at Garden City also offers latest

blockbuster movies with modern screen and sound.

What to wear

Informality is the norm-for day time wear, sports shirts and slacks are recommended for men, and light cotton

dresses, skirts and tops for women. In city hotels a little more formality may be required in the evenings. For

visitors going into the Mountains, a sweater and sturdy gripped walking boots are required. A hat for

protection against the Sun, Sunglasses and a swimwear should also be packed. Avoid bright colours when

on safari. Brown, beige, dark green and Khaki trousers for walking in scrub is recommended.

available to us. Every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information provided. We cannot

accept any responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions caused by matters beyond our control.

COMPLAINTS

Complaints must be reported immediately to our representative and to the supplier of the service(s) in

question, who will do their best to resolve any problem. If you remain dissatisfied, a written report should be

GORILLA PERMITS:

The client/agent acknowledges that gorilla permits have to be booked and paid long time

in advance and that they are subject to the following rules. On receipt of payment the

company books permits for gorilla tracking in the relevant National Park as agreed with

the client/agent at the time of booking. The company will purchase the gorilla permits

immediately during the next working day and send a confirmation to the client within 24

hours. As per Uganda Wildlife Authority the client/agent needs to forward the passport details

of participants. Every extra gorilla permit asked by the client is subject to the same

rules. Gorilla permits are non-refundable unless refunds are made available by the

relevant authority. If refunds are made available by the relevant authority, the company

shall pass them on to the client/agent, after having received the funds. Getting a

gorilla permit is not a guarantee of seeing gorillas as local conditions sometimes mean

that access to the gorillas is made impossible at short notice.

We are unable to accept liability for any circumstance that might lead to gorilla viewing being cancelled,

whether it is closure of the National Park or borders; absence of the gorillas; security changes. Refunds are

Endeavour’s to obtain a refund and if a refund is paid by the relevant authority, we shall pass it on to the

client.

Clients should be fit and healthy when undertaking the gorilla trekking.
