She has also been awarded the Governor General’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Zahra Al-Harazi can’t take no for an answer. It’s how she’s wired, and why her skyrocketing success as the award-winning head of Foundry Communications shouldn’t surprise anyone.
In an earlier life, Zahra grew up in Yemen—a country not exactly known for women’s rights. She was married at 17, and by 25, she gave birth to her third child.
Until 1996, Zahra taught ESL in Yemen at the Yemen American Language Institute.
When she immigrated to Canada with her family nearly 15 years ago, she didn’t know a single person. She went back to school with the help, support and encouragement of her family, earned a degree in Visual Communication (BDES) from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2002, graduating with accolades.
Best described as a dizzying blur of advancement and achievement, Zahra’s career has been doing just ne. In three short years after graduating ACAD, she became Founder, and Creative Director of hot-shop Foundry Communications.
A sta of three in 2006 grew to 16 by 2012 as her creative reputation went to work all on its own, raking in exciting new clients and the hopeful resumes of some of the best designers in Canada.
Busy surveying western Canada’s design, advertising, PR and interactive scenes, Zahra, with her legendary entrepreneurial radar has worked on brands such as ACAD, Cenovus, Travel Alberta, Avi Urban, Celtic, Brinkhaus, Nexen, Encana, Teravita and Golder Associates. Zahra sees the limitless potential

e Energy industry is a powerful and dynamic sector that has much to oer in terms of challenges, innovation, learning, growth,
and accomplishments, and there has never been a shortage of content to prole all of this, especially when it comes to technical
information. However, as with any industry in the world, the evolution of how people receive and dissect information is rapidly
changing, particularly with a new generation of future leaders gaining a foothold in inuential positions. is ever-changing explosion of information technology combined with new realms of social media
and multimedia platforms places us at the most exciting time of energy information in history.
e OGM delivers unique content in such a way that it communicates the way we think about our resources and how we live and operate while developing them. We understand that this concept is crucial
to sustain engagement, as we’ve taken great care to ensure our energy information reects the global “pop” culture, as personal and
professional mastery of both aspects is critical for the next generation.
With an editorial distinction that only focuses on what is positive and possible, e OGM is an Energy media brand that is a source for those hungry for more information about the industry, and those looking to expand their knowledge base in various sectors within the industry. All
is presented in an educational, engaging, and entertaining platform.
Our content is intended to be highly visual and is written at a high level of expertise as opposed to being highly technical. However, the
term “culture” can mean something dierent to everyone which is exactly what makes e OGM remarkably unique. Whether your
interests lie in the tech industry and wanting to know which venture funds are investing in the latest startups or you are interested in
aviation and nding the latest innovations in aircraft manufacturing.
e OGM blends Energy + Culture in a harmonious platform that caters to something for everyone. While still keeping our core focus on
the Energy industry, enjoy this and future issues as we raise the bar in trending cultural topics that are guaranteed to inspire you!

Do you think if I knew my neighbor better, I would have more understanding, compassion, and anity for him?
Do you think if I could get over there in his world, see his vision and understand his ideas, that we would connect and unite? Do you think that creating a culture of “collaboration” would bring new possibilities to the world?
Do you think that focusing on “sustainable” right action for our people and our planet would be the pathway to achieving a great future for us all?
We thought so too! at’s why we’ve invented one of the rst online global vision boards for sustainability at www.eOGM.com. Right up on the main slider, you will nd a map of the world.
