“We have noticed with the DTX the manure is much drier. We use it to spread on the field and there has been a significant difference in the pulling weight compared to what we used to spread. This has also allowed the ride and compaction across the field to improve. I would definitely recommend the DTX for manure separation! In addition to the drier material it runs more efficiently on hydro than the older system with less run times, and it has more safety features in the event of a backup. Mark and Cindy Bickle (maiden name Hoskin) own and operate Stonybrook Farms in Cobourg ON. Cindy is the 6th generation dairy farmer in her family dating back to 1845. In 2005 they were the first farmers to be awarded the Century of Holsteins award by Holstein Canada. This award recognizes the dedication and contribution of Holstein families through their long-standing membership that has continued actively for 100 years. In addition to running the dairy farm with about 275 milking cows the Bickle’s sell beef at a local farmers market and they recently purchased a barn that is used for weddings.
