Readings. The First reading – The first casualty of sin is a breakdown in relationships: Adam does not owe up to his sin, but blames Eve, and God for putting her with him!The Second reading – St Paul wisely teaches us to see the difficulties we must bear as a form of training. May the things that trouble us also strengthen us.The Gospel – Jesus’ extended family fear that he has gone mad: Jesus, in his turn, redefines his family as those who hear his word. A new kind of family is being formed. Altar Servers next weekPortmagee: Liam & Cate Conway, Luke O Sullivan.Dun Geagain: Shane Gugán & Seamus Ó Laoi. The Glen: Cathal Casey, Tadhg & Ellen O Leary.

The final collection to help finance the World Meeting of Families will be taken up at all Masses on the weekend of June 17th. Bishop Ray thanks you for your generous contribution to the previous collections. Bishop Ray asks Church members to consider being especially generous to this collection. With the visit of Pope Francis and the need to plan to accommodate over half a million at the final Mass (hopefully huge numbers from our diocese will be present), costs are enormous. A figure of Twenty Million Euro is being mentioned. It is vital that each diocese makes a significant contribution.
