Captains coordinate classroom holiday parties: Fall Festival, Winter Holiday, Spring Holiday. Parties can include crafts, games, and snacks. Captains also coordinate the class prize basket contribution for Fun Day and decide if the class will be ordering pizza for lunch that day. At the beginning of the year, homeroom captains contact parents to ask them for a donation (usually around $20) which funds the activities for the rest of the year. The homeroom captain can also choose to give a holiday and/or end of year gift to the teacher using these funds.

Slide 15

Woodland H&S engages in fundraising activities throughout the year (but we try not to bug you too much!): KidStuff Coupon books: These valuable coupon books sell themselves and Woodland receives $12.50 for each one sold. Student Planners: We distribute 250 student planners every year for the students to use to keep track of homework assignments and projects. Fun Day: We have inflatables, carnival games, water ice, prizes and a DJ at this amazing year-event event! Assemblies: Throughout the year the children attend assemblies on a variety of topics

Slide 25

Mini-grants: We offer money for teachers to buy special supplies or equipment that would not be funded by the district. 4 th Grade Yearbooks and activities: Every 4 th grader gets a yearbook and a social event at the end of the year. Field trips- H&S pays for bus transportation to field trip sites so your field trip payments are kept to a minimum. Teacher and Staff appreciation luncheon: every year we provide a special meal to Woodland teachers and staff to say thank-you. Please note: Woodland H&S tries to spend money raised in the same year it comes in.
