The CSI kitchen container has been in development since 1997. Experience has resulted in optimized solutions in terms of mobility, hook-up, function and service.

Our container kitchen is tailor-made for rapid and flexible expansion or relocation.

All the interior walls and the ceiling and floor are clad in stainless steel to ensure compliance with the strictest hygiene requirements under field conditions. The floors also have quarter-hollows for easier cleaning.

The standard kitchen consists of 4 container modules with the capacity to produce meals for 300-500 people.

The kitchens are designed to operate under all weather and temperature conditions in the field.

Set-up time for a 4-container kitchen is roughly 10 hours for two people.

The containers can be transported as an ordinary shipping container by road, rail, sea or air transport.

After use, the containers can easily be disassembled and transported for other missions elsewhere, or they can be stored for later use.

The CSI containers are equipped with a proprietary leveling system integrated in the corner posts that enables optimal leveling in the field.

This kitchen can be expanded quickly and flexibly with 2 additional containers, increasing the meal capacity to 1000 people.

The kitchens come in different sizes, i.e. 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-container solutions, with the largest one having a 3,000-person capacity.

The equipment has been selected anddesigned to provide maximum accessfor cleaning.

We offer to adapt our products to the customer’s needs at any time. Our container-based solutions can be adapted to meet any military requirements, as well as the needs of civilian users such as construction firms and civilian aid organizations.

Painting System Internal and external painting systems are in accordance with FS 8010-0052 item 7.3, system 2.1. The finish, including painting system, is decribed below in terms of pre-treatment, no. of coats and dry film thickness.

Internal walls Stainless steel on all walls and ceiling, built of modules which are moulded (15°) at the ends. Stainless steel plates are fully cemented in addition to being screwed together at the joints.Stainless steel type: Aisi 304 polished with grit 240, thickness of 1.25 mm.Furring with 2” x 4” CC 60 slats fitted on L-iron.15 mm. watertight plywood fitted on 2” x 4” slats.

Doors Delivered with insulated outer doors of steel with 50x50 cm. shockproof insulation glass. The doors have 3 x reinforced hinges and door pumps are fitted.

Sewerage Stainless steel pipes Ø 50 mm. - 100 mm.BLUCHER Euro Pipe with thin-walled pipes and fittings which are TIG welded and with pressed sleeve and tapered in accordance with CEN standard EN 1124.Wall thickness 1.0 mm.Lip gaskets of EPDM (Ethylene-propylene).Operating temperature from -40° to +100°C.Certification: MARINE - DNV P-11342 NO-2001/049.

Water Water pipes are conceled with a !’ pipe in piping, protected by self-regulating heating cable. Pipe connections are terminated at each apparatus with a ball valve. The piping is fitted with a drainage point for draining prior to transport or storage.

Electrical System The standard current is 3x400V/50Hz, but other kinds of current can be supplied on request.The container’s electrical system complies with STANAG 4133, 4135.All apparatuses are CE-approved.Internally concealed system in corrugated pipes to the appliances in the wall to the electric socket at end points.External cable: H07RN-F (replaces NMHVO) is used. This cable in an EPR insulated cable with a max operating temperature of 90°C. The cable is oil-proof and for indoor and outdoor use.All cables that are used externally have a reduction factor of 0.79 due to the high ambient temperatures (STANAG A1)

OptionalThe kitchen container can be delivered in different qualities and can be customized. Walls and ceiling can be delivered in stainless steel, other equipment than specified can also be delivered. Dining tent, Serving Line, Water Treatment Container etc., can also be delivered.

UVC Microbicidal ProtectionPeace-keeping forces are constantly being deployed to remote and challenging locations. The threat situation with regard to contagious diseases spread by parasites, micro-organisms and viruses has dramatically worsened in recent years. We have addressed these problems by installing air-optimization and UVC microbicidal protection in our kitchen containers. UVC is an effective and well-documented means of disinfecting air, surfaces and water. No resistance problems are associated with UVC disinfection. “Smart” microbes can develop resistances to antibiotics and chemicals, but with UVC there are no such problems. Low-pressure UVC sources are used in disinfectant applications. UVC damages the genetic material so that microbes cannot breed.

The UVC technology has been developed with a view to satisfy the strictest bio-safety guidelines (level P4) formulated by the CDC (Centre for Disease Control) in the USA and WHO. UVC DefinitionUV (Ultraviolet) radiation, often called UV light, is divided into three wavelength ranges, using nanometers (nm) as the unit of measurement, i.e. UVC (200-280 nm), UVB (280-320 nm) and UVA (320-400 nm). The shortest wavelength in the UVC range has the strongest microbicidal effect.

CSI is probably the only company in the world that uses UVC technology in field sanitary systems.
