"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Confucius

-Greetings / Good morning everyone. Im sure everyones pretty excited today.

    - Small talk Intro spiel / This school year is finally coming to an end. All of us are here today to

celebrate the victories of the past school year. Allow me to congratulate each and everyone who is here

    this morning.

Faculty and staff- All the preparations and hard work you did, not only for this event but also

for the whole school year has finally come to this moment where your main products will be

    recognized.

Parents - Your continued love and support has made it possible for your child to reach this

stage. Your hard work in your jobs allowed your child to study and learn the basics. Every night

that you spent with your child as you helped him/her with his/her assignment, you were

building wonderful memories for your child to remember.

And of course, how can I forget these cute little boys and girls sitting in front of me?

Congratulations, Students! You have reached this moment of your life because you worked hard

this year. You did not give up! Do you still remember when you first entered school? You still

didnt know your ABCs. You didnt know how to count from 1 to 10. But now, Im sure you

already know how to spell your name, how to count, not only until 10, but until 50 or even 100.

Everyone did their fair share of hard work and dedication, and for that you deserve to be commended.

Pat your seatmate in the back (gently, gently!!!) and say to him/her, You did a good job!

But let me warn you. It gets harder after this. First, you will experience elementary school, and then

high school, then college. And then eventually, youll reach the real world as you start your careers. But

dont worry! Just remember to take everything one step at a time and you will surely make it. No

matter how big a task may be, believe that you can do it, if you will just take it one step at a time.

    Let me share with you

4 things to remember as you take lifes challenges one step at

    a time:

    1. SEEK GOD FIRSTa. Kids Im sure youre familiar with the game Hide and Seek. To seek mean to look for

something. Everyday, in all that you do, look for God. What lesson does He want you to

learn? What does God want you to do? If youre playing, does He want you to fight with

your friend? Or does He want you to forgive? When in school, what does God want you

to do? Study hard, listen to your teachers, be nice to your classmates, etc. Look for God

    in every situation.

    b. Parents / Teachers We want the best for our kids. The key to getting that is to seekGod first. Get to know Him. Desire His will for you and your child, not your will but His,

for His plans for each one of us is the best there is. Just as you will not withhold good

things to your children especially if they please you, God will not withhold good things

from you, if you will just seek Him and His will first.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

    Matthew 6:33

    2. TRUST IN GODk There is a song we learned in Sunday School that says the only way

to be happy is to trust and obey God:

o Trust and obey / for theres no other way / to be happy inJesus / but to trust and obey.

k Kids Next year you will face new challenges; new friends, newteachers, and for some of you, new school. It can be scary, but if

you trust In God, you will have nothing to be afraid of. He

promised to take care of you because He loves you. Just trust in

Him. Pray to Him whenever you feel scared or alone. Trust Him to

    help you.

k Parents / Teachers - You never know what tomorrow may bring.Your decisions may lead you to either the right or the wrong path. The best way to navigate

through life and to ensure your familys best interests is to TRUST IN GOD. Only He knows

what the future holds. Trust only in Him and rest assured that your future is safe andsecure.

    Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

    3. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT - Do not miss out on the beauty of the moment. Every second thatticks by is already gone and considered past. Thats why we need to relish each moment.

Thisis the daythe LORD has made; let us rejoice and be gladin it. Psalm 118:24

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider:

God has made the one as well as the other. Ecclesiastes 7:14

k Are you with a friend right now? Relish spending that time with him/her! You may not seehim/her in a long while and then you will start wishing I wish I am with my friend.

k Parents, savor this moment with your child. It is only once that they get to graduate frompreschool. Spend time with them as much as you can. Play with them. Soon enough, they

    will grow up.

k Teachers, savor each moment you have with your students. You are only given a certainamount of time with each class. Next year, you will have a different group to teach. Savor

each moment with them. Make the most of every opportunity.

k Boys and girls, I know you are excited to know what it will be like to be grown up, to reachelementary, or high school. Dont worry, youll get there soon enough. Just enjoy this

moment that you have. Enjoy being kids. Because you can never get it back when its

    already past.

Po, of the movie Kung Fu Panda, was reminded by Mr. Oogway of this:

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future,

but today is a gift. Thats why its called the present.

    4. PAYATTENTIONk Kids you hear your teachers say this often, Pay attention! This is because they dont

want you to miss out on something important they want to teach you. The same goes

with your life. As you take each step of your life, pay attention and learn what you can

from it. Note what is good and then thank God for it. Take note also of the bad things

and decide what you should do about it.

k Parents / Teachers We must pay attention, not only to our own life and the adultworld, but also (and most importantly) to the kids in our charge. We are placed in their

lives to be their mentors, their guide as they grow up. Pay attention to their needs,

physically, mentally, emotionally, and most of all, spiritually. Paying attention to their

needs todaysolves a lot of problems tomorrow.

    ***

And so, in conclusion, I want to challenge everyone that is here to remember these 4 steps:

    1. SEEK GOD FIRST2. TRUST IN GOD3. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT4. PAY ATTENTION

Do it, and prepare to experience the best journey ever the journey called life.

Once again, congratulations and good day!
