Prior to retiring in Florida Bob and Jo enjoyed living and raising their family in An-gola, both will always be loved and missed by their many family members and friends. LAKE SHORE SEVENTH GRADERS ATTEND ENLIGHTENING PRESENTATION All seventh grade students were invited to a very spe-cial assembly on Wednesday, November 11th. Ms. Sue Conners, founder of the Tourette Syndrome Association and former Williamsville French teacher, came to Lake Shore to talk to the students about differences. She point-ed out that no two people are the same and allowed stu-dents themselves to come up with ways in which they are different from those around them. She also spoke about genetics and the inability of any of us to control things like our height, hair color, or whether or not we have freckles. Ms. Conners allowed the kids to point out things that she was doing that caught their attention- she then shared with the group that she herself has Tourette’s. As it is noth-ing she can control, she talked the kids about sensitivity toward those that are different. She pointed out that we are all different in many ways, but by asking questions and understanding before judging, we can all be more ac-cepting of the differences we have. Her presentation was enlightening and goes along well with our district initia-tive to keep our schools “Bully Free”.

The 4th graders at Saint Mary of the Lake School had to make a plant or animal cell out of food for science. They used many different small candies for the insides of the cells. ANGOLA RESIDENT TO COMPETE IN MISS NEW YORK TEEN USA PAGEANT

On Friday, January 17th, Angola native Hannah Cooper will travel to Purchase College in New York City to com-pete in the Miss New York Teen USA Pageant. The reigning (2013) Miss Eden Sweet Corn, Cooper is the daughter of Paul and Ann Cooper of Angola and is a 2013 graduate of Immaculata Academy in Hamburg. Hannah is currently attending the State University of New York at Oswego where she is majoring in Biology and hopes to one day use that education in her pursuit of a career in medicine. “I’ve always enjoyed participating in the local pag-eants,” Cooper said, “and in making friends with the other girls in the competition. Since I started about ten years ago, I’ve been able to develop some very strong and life-long friendships with so many fun and talented people.” Cooper added, “I’m really thrilled to have been selected to compete in this pageant and look forward to meeting the other contestants and representing this region in such a well known, well run and well respected competition. I’m sure it will be an amazing experience.” Cooper will represent this region as Miss Erie County, and will compete against dozens of other young women representing areas throughout New York State. Contes-tants in this exciting three day pageant will be evaluated on beauty, poise, speaking eloquence, overall confidence and character. The Miss New York Teen USA pageant is owned and produced by NBCUniversal and Donald J. Trump. The winner of Miss New York Teen USA will travel to the na-tional pageant this coming summer to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA 2014.

LAKE VIEW HOCKEY PLAYER

NAMED TO SELECTS HOCKEY’S INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

The Selects Hockey organization has selected Declan McDonnell from Lake View at their annual minor pee-wee international tryout held January 1 at the Northtown Center at Amherst (Amherst, NY) to join the international program with the East Coast Selects-O (ECS-O) hockey team. More than 300 invited players from across North America competed for 68 positions, with those selected participating in the program’s international spring training development camp and World Selects Invitational in Bol-zano, Italy this April/May. Participants will be submerged into foreign cultures and face top international competi-tion in this once in a lifetime experience. Declan McDonnell was superb at the tryout. He not only showed he has the skill to be a top hockey prospect but also demonstrated great leadership and passion on the ice”, commented Tyler Cragg (ECS-O 02 head coach). The selection committee consisted of independent hockey evaluators including former NHL goaltender Mike Torchia, Selects Hockey co-founder Joe Templin, head coach Tyler Cragg and other professional coaches and scouts. Selects Hockey is an elite hockey prospect develop-ment program owned Legacy Global Sports. Since 2003, Selects Hockey has worked with top 12-16-year- old hockey players across North America and Europe to ex-pose them to all avenues of hockey in an effort to facilitate opportunities at the NCAA, Junior and Professional lev-els. Selects Hockey’s growing list of NHL alumni is led by future stars Matt Duchene (Colorado Avalanche), Logan Couture (San Jose Sharks), Kevin Shattenkirk (St. Louis Blues), Brandon Saad (Chicago Blackhawks) and Seth Jones (Nashville Predators). The program has helped over 230 players receive NCAA scholarships over the past 10 years to schools such as Harvard, Boston University, Boston College, University of Michigan and many more.

Hofner a/k/a Robert Hofner, if living and if he be dead, any and all persons who are spouses,widows,grantees, mortgag-ees, lienor, heirs, devisees, distributees, or successors in interest of such of the above as may be dead, and their spouses, heirs, devi-sees, distributees and successors in interest, all of whom and whose names and places of residences are unknown to Plaintiff, Virginia Hofner aka Virginia H. Hofner aka Virginia H. Wisniewski, Man-ufacturers and Traders Trust Company, Community Bank, N.A., Capital One Bank, NY Financial Services, LLC, Atlantic Credit & Finance Inc., Midland Funding, LLC DBA in New York as Mid-land Funding of Delaware, LLC, CACH, LLC, United States of America-Internal Revenue Service, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance,

Defendants.

Plaintiff designates Erie County as the place of trial. Venue is based upon the County in which the Mortgage premises is situated.

TO THE ABOVE NAMED DEFENDANT(S): YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED to answer the Complaint in this action and to serve a copy of your Answer or, if the Complaint is not served with this Summons, to serve a Notice of Appearance on the attorneys for the plaintiff within twenty (20) days after service of this Summons, exclusive of the day of service (or within thirty (30) days after service is complete if this Summons is not personally delivered to you within the State of New York). In case of your failure to appear or answer, judgment will be taken against you by default for the relief demanded in the Complaint.

NOTICE OF NATURE OF ACTION AND RELIEF SOUGHT THE OBJECT of the above captioned action is to foreclose a Mortgage to secure $63,000.00 and interest, recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County of ERIE on June 7, 2001, in Book 12929 at Page 1926, covering premises known as 656 Perry Street, Farnham, NY 14061. The relief sought in the within action is a final judgment directing the sale of the premises described above to satisfy the debt secured by the Mortgage described above.
