Dear Parent/Guardian,
Youth Alpha Away Day
Hopefully your child has been enjoying the Youth Alpha course.
Part of the course is
an away day, where we talk about the Holy Spirit; who the Holy
Spirit is, what the
Holy Spirit does and how we can be filled with the Holy Spirit.
It promises to be a
great day, providing a place for your children to experience the
Holy Spirit with theirfriends. We plan to hold this on Sunday
19th
October 2014.
We will begin the day at Wallington GirlsSchool at 10.30 as
normal, and then at 12
noon we will be re-locating to the YouthZone, Phoenix Centre
where we will have
some lunch and continue until 3.30pm. (We do ask that you make
your own
arrangements to get your children to the Phoenix Centre). We
will be providing
afternoon refreshments for everyone, so please organise packed
lunch for your
children.
Could you please complete the attached slip and ensure your
child brings it along on
that Sunday (19th
October). This is a legal requirement (for all children under
18), so
any child without a return slip will NOT be able to come
along.
As you will already be aware, the Youth Alpha course helps our
young people get to a
place where they will be able to take Communion at Springfield,
if they so wish. It is
also necessary for them to be baptised. We are looking to have a
Baptism service on
Sunday 7th
December. If any of your children havent yet been baptised, then
this
would be a great opportunity for them to do so. Please do let me
know if they would
like to do this, as soon as possible. This service will also
include Family Communion,
so that we can celebrate everyone taking their first communion
together.
