A glimpse into Indonesias diverse culture
With everything from workshops about how to
paint batik to beautiful Indonesian food, the
Indonesia Fair at the Canterbury Horticultural
Health on 28 September was a delight. Cultural
performances are always a highlight and gave a
glimpse of Indonesias diverse cultural
heritage. A wayang shadow puppet
performance by Otago Universitys
Puspawarna Gamelan Ensemble was
extraordinary and so clever.
Celebrating Nigerian independence
I really enjoyed joining in with celebrating 53 years
of Nigerian independence and 10 years for the
Nigerian Canterbury Association. Great music,
dancing and costumes and fantastic food!

wedding at their second celebration with the first
held in Nigeria exactly a year ago.
