Parent Note: Please note that students will be assessed on all 20 words on this sheet for spelling tests.
This is simply to show you where the words are coming from (phonics, high-frequency lists, etc.). While students will not be expected to write or recite the definitions for
vocabulary words, they will have an assessment (multiple choice) on Fridays over the words. The more familiar they are with the words, the more success they will have and
the more their word banks will grow!

Webbed – feet or hands that are connected between toes or fingers by skin. Waterproof – water is not able to pass through. Steer – to control the way something moves. Whistle – a sharp, high-pitched sound made by blowing air. Otherwise – something different will happen if something specific doesn’t occur. Junior – a person or animal that is younger than others in a group. Slippery – smooth, wet, or greasy surface. Finally – something happens after a long wait.
