Looking Ahead

Friday- March 30th will be our annualdowntown park Easter Egg Hunt. Each student who is participatingneeds to bring at least 2 dozen plasticfilled Easter Eggs. We will need par-ents to help hide eggs. Middle School/ High School may choose to help hideor participate in this activity.

Reminder

We have two girls in our school

that have a very difficult time fight-ing off illnesses. A simple cold for

one of us is 2-3 weeks out of school for them and usually a hos-pital visit. Please be very cautious, especially in the younger grades, if your children are ill, please do not

send to school.

UPCOMING HOLIDAYS

March 2nd (SPEECH MEET)April 2nd– April 13th (SPRING BREAK)

Box TopsWednesday (Feb 22nd) is our last day to

get in on the competition this month.

Mrs. Silva will be coming around to the

classes at the end of the day to collect

each classes Box Tops. Let’s go gang!

Bring in those Box Tops in the next

week!!!

Math OlympicsFriday, March 23rd is the annual Math

Olympics. This is a mathematical competi-

tion for students in 3rd-8th grade students.

There IS school that day (the competition is

in Santa Maria) but our Math contestants

will leave school part way through the day.

The list of students who are “invited” will be

posted in a few weeks. This is actually one of our students favorite academic competitions

as there is no pressure. You sit in a room at

your own desk with peers and take a short

series of Math tests (like 10 problems). Very

low pressure and a fun day for the older stu-

dents to participate in.

An FYI

Mrs. Nason will be out Wednesday-Friday and possibly a part of the followingweek for some medical procedures downat UCLA. Probably will not be reachableon Wednesday (22nd) , however, LaurieQuiram (Mrs.Q) will be acting adminis-trator while I am gone.

Tuition

Remember that February tuition is due.-March is due next week

Testing

Some parents have requested that this yearwe do standardized testing. We are willingto do it but we would need to know howmany parents are interested in this beforewe begin ordering tests. The testing will bedone in April. The cost per student will runanywhere from $40-$50 per student de-pending on how many students are testing. If we have a majority of parents wanting

testing the cost will go down. There is spe-cial training for teachers to go through nowto be able to be a testing facilitator. Pleaselet me know ASAP ( no later than the 24thof February via email or text message) if you are interested. If you have a studentregistered through TUSD you can get yourstudents their testing there at no charge.
