2 Ingredients For Creating Your Miracle

Today, God wants to tell you, Child, I have given you the capacity to create

your miracles. I merely supply the raw materials. But you manufacture the

miracles that you need.

Today, you will learn how to create your miracles.

Cockroaches In A Retreat Houses

Many years ago, when I was still young and handsome (now, Im just

irresistible), I gave a retreat to a bunch of female college students.

While preparing for my talks in my bedroom, a regular-sized cockroach flew

in and buzzed around the ceiling. I didnt know why I did this, but I found myselfpointing my finger to it and commanded, In Jesus name, come down and die!

In a second, I saw the insect hit an invisible wall and it came crashing down on

the hard floor, dead as a stone.

Suddenly, I felt powerful.

I lifted my pointer finger to my lips and blew the imaginary smoke.

A few minutes later, I was preaching to an enthusiastic crowd of young femalecollege students.

Remember the cockroach I killed in my room?

Without warning, the grandfather of that bug came into the seminar room,

seeking vengeance.

It was huge and menacing.

You can just imagine the dramatic effect this had on an all-womenaudience. They were busy ducking for shelter and hiding beneath desks, and my

talk was quickly losing much of its appeal.

I remembered what I did in my room a few minutes ago.

I wondered if I should do the same thingcommand it to die.

But this was different.

I was alone in my room then; Now, I was in front of people.

What if nothing will happen?

But I was 19 years old, brash and brave.

So in front of everyone, I pointed my finger to the flying beast and ordered,

In Jesus name, come down and die!

And the same thing happened: The flyer nose-dived and splattered its entrails

on the cement tiles in front of me.

Naturally, my audience was shocked. Their jaws dropped, looking at me with

pure amazement. In their minds, they were asking, Who is this man that evencockroaches obey him?

As if this was an everyday occurrence to me, I casually said, As I was

saying

After my talk, I went back to my bedroom.

That was when I saw another cockroach climbing the bedroom wall. (Out of

the kindness of my heart, I shall not divulge the name of this old retreat house.) So

with my two recent power encounters, I knew what to do. I pointed my finger to

it and said, In Jesus name, come down and die!

But this time, the crawler kept on crawling.

Thinking that perhaps it didnt have his antennaes up, I repeated my

command in a louder voice. But the cockroach didnt show any signs of obeying

me.

Suddenly, a clear inspiration from God entered my mind.

Yes, God spoke to me.

Shockingly, He didnt speak to me in dignified Old English with the Thou

and Thy and Thus Sayeth the Lord. Nor did He speak in Latin. Nor did He

speak in Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, or any other ancient biblical language.

Amazingly, He spoke in Filipino.

He said, Kunin mo yung tsinelas mo at patayin mo! Tamad! (Get yourslipper and kill it! Dont be lazy!)

And then I heard God laugh.

And I ended up laughing too.

But I have a serious message to my story.

I believe that one of the biggest reasons why we dont receive Gods blessings

is because we rely on Him too much.

Always remember: God wont do for you what you can do for yourself. If He

did, you wont grow.

Two Essential Ingredients Of Miracles

Ive realized that miracles consist of blending two important ingredients:

1. Asking

2. Acting

1. Asking

First, you ask.

You wish.

You pray.

You have a clear picture of what you want.

Asking is very important.

Because it raises your beliefand belief is so crucial to faith.

But theres another element.

2. Acting

Once upon a time, I thought faith and action were at war.

Once upon a time, I thought faith and action couldnt co-exist.

Once upon a time, I thought that if I really believed that God would heal me,

taking care of my health meant I didnt trust God enough.

Or that if I believed that God would provide, saving money or buying

insurance meant I didnt trust God.

Or that if I believed that God would speak through my preaching, preparing

for a talk meant I didnt trust God.

How wrong I was.

I believe otherwise.

I now believe that the best, loudest, clearest, most powerful, most eloquent

expression of faith is action.

Because faith and action are one.

You cant separate them.

The Bible says the same thing: Show me how anyone can have faith withoutactions. I will show you my faith by my actions. (James 2:20)

In it, youll find the Whos Who of the Bible.

All the great leaders.

All the patriarchs and prophets.

Read it carefully and check out what kind of faith they had.

To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of thethings we cannot see. It was by their faith that people of ancient times won

Gods approval.

It was faith that made Abel offer to God a better sacrifice than Cains.

It was faith that made Noah hear Gods warnings about things in the

future that he could not see.

It was faith that made Abraham obey when God called him to go out to a

country which God had promised to give him. He left his own countrywithout knowing where he was going.

It was faith that made the parents of Moses hide him for three months

after he was born.

It was faith that made Moses leave Egypt without being afraid of thekings anger.

It was faith that made the Israelites able to cross the Red Sea as if on dry

land; when the Egyptians tried to do it, the water swallowed them up.

Should I go on? There isnt enough time for me to speak of Gideon,Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets. Through faith

they fought whole countries and won. They did what was right and received

what God had promised. They shut the mouths of lions,put out fierce fires,

escaped being killed by the sword. They were weak, but became strong; theywere mighty in battle and defeated the armies of foreigners. (Hebrews 11,

selected verses)

But do you see what I see?

They call this the Hall of Faith.

But its like a string of blockbuster Action Movies!

Thats the kind of faith God wants you to have: Faith expressed in action.

He gives us raw materials.

Its up to us to create the miracles!

Youre A Factory Of Miracles

I live in a place where there are lots of factories.

During the Asian crisis of 97, I felt so sad because a lot of those factories

closed down.

I felt sorry for them. They had these big machines. They had these conveyorbelts. They had an army of delivery vans in the parking lot. But they didnt

produce anything.

Some factories were still running, but were producing only one-fourth of

their output. They werent running on full-capacity.

Today, the economy is better.

And those machines are running again at full-speed. Those vans are

delivering goods again. Those factories are producing products again. Its

wonderful to see.

Friend,youre a factory of miracles.

Thats how God made you.

But perhaps the factory is closed down. Or the factory is running at a

fraction of its full-capacity.

Today, God will revive your factory of miracles.

Today, I speak abundance into your life.

I command that your factory of miracles start running again.

I declare that your life will produce more miracles than you dreamed

possible.

God Gives You Raw Materials

One of my sons favorite toys isLego.

Once upon a time, we bought him a small set ofLego cubes.

The entire set had just 10 pieces.

But in the hands of our son, those 10 cubes became an airplane. It was

incredible.

We were so happy, we gave him more cubes to play with. And he created

more airplanes and ships and houses and buildingshe built a whole city.

I believe God works that way.

You need to work with what you have.

You cant complain, Why do I have only 10 cubes?

Thats not how life works.

If you only have 10 cubes, work with those 10 cubes.

Dont complain that you dont have enough talents. Dont complain that you

dont have enough capital to start a business. Dont complain that you dont have

enough connections.

You have enough to start something small.

And as God sees you faithful in small things, God will give you bigger things.

Soon, Hell give you more and more raw materials.

Factories begin small.

But as it produces more miracles, it grows in size as more raw materials are

used. Soon, youll be automating your factory.

With less work, youre producing more.

When that happens, youll experience theAnointing of Ease.

I first heard this from Joel Osteen and I dont know if he was the first one to

use this phrase.

Let me explain what this is.

Anointing Of Ease

Some religious people think that faith is separate from action because of this

phenomenon: The Anointing of Ease.

They thinkits devoid of action.

Thats why they like describing a person who is experiencing the Anointing of

Ease as someone who doesnt act, but simply trusts in God.

But its not.

If you look closely, that anointed person is doing lots and lots of action

expressing his faith.

It just seems so effortless.

I compare the Anointing of Ease to how world-class singers perform.

When I watch Celine Dion, Josh Groban, or Lea Salonga, I get transported

to another world. When I hear Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronomo, or Charice

Pempengco, I get mesmerized. When I listen to Martin Nievera, Gary V, or Adrian

Panganiban (Im loyal to my friend), I get awed. Theyve got incredible talent.

But their talent has reached a certain degree where they do it

effortlessly. What floors me the most is the sheer ease of their

performance. Almost without effort.

The key word is almost. Because you know thats not true. Theyve had

years of practice and performance.

I also compare the Anointing of Ease when I see champion athletes perform

like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Rafa Nadal.

The Anointing of Ease is similar to Playing in the Zone.

Michael Jordan said that when hes playing in the zone, its as though hecannot make a mistake. When he shoots, its as though he cant miss. When he

jumps, its as though he wont go down anymore. Everything is easy. Everything is

effortless. Everything is fluid. Everything is spontaneous. Everything is happening

in slow motion, with the universe conspiring to make him win.

The Anointing of Ease is when youre no longer rowing, but riding the boat,

being pushed by the flow of miracles behind you.

Dont get me wrong.

Youre still working.

You still have problems.

But supernatural miracles are happening every single day.

At the right time, Divine Interruptions happen.

God shows up.

And He says, Heres provision. Heres equipment. Here are the solutions to

your problems. Because this is not just your work. This is our work. Were doing

this together. This isnt just your wish. This is our wish. Were wishing this

together. This isnt just your plan. This is our plan!

Let me give you an example from my life.

Everything Falls Into Place

Twenty years ago, I launchedKerygma magazine.

I didnt know anything about making magazines. In fact, I wasnt a real

writer. But looking back, I felt we received the Anointing of Ease.

Im not saying there were no problems. There were.

Im not saying we didnt work. We worked our butts off.

But I saw God supplying all the raw materials for our miracles. Before we

startedKerygma magazine, God already provided theLegoparts for our miracle.

Thirty years ago, my sister Tina had an officemate named May. Tina invited

May to the prayer meeting. May had a sister named Chay whom she also invited to

the prayer meeting.

Whats so incredible about that?

Chay happened to be editor-in-chief of MOD magazine, the #1 womans

magazine during that time. And Chay was our first volunteer to help out start

Kerygma.

And in one year,Kerygmabecame the #1 inspirational magazine in the

country.

Thats what you call an Anointing of Ease.

If God wants you to do something, Hell make the right people walk into your

life. Hell send the necessary raw materials. Hell arrange everything. Its as

though youre walking into a playground where everyLegopiece has already beenprepared in advance for you.

Dont Settle For A Miracle-Less Life

Right now, you may be facing one struggle after another struggle after

another struggle

Perhaps youre buried under a mountain of debts, and youve tried everything

to get out of it, but it seems as though nothing is working.

Perhaps your marriage is broken.

Perhaps youre worried about your kids going astray.

Heres the temptation: To resign yourself to a life of endless struggle. That this

is the life God wants for you to live.

Yes, we will always have burdens.

But in life, I believe there are more blessings than burdens.

Yes, there is a valley of tears. It exists.

But I dont believe God wants you to walk through the valley of tears, not

live in the valley of tears.

Your temptation is to build your house in the valley of tears.

Dont live there. Dont make that your address.

Walkthrough the valley.

And climb your mountain of victory.

Instead of rowing, God wants you to ride the wave.

To let the flow of abundance push you to where it wants you to go. Because

where it wants you to go and where you want to go is one and the same thing.

Let your factory of miracles start humming again!

Friend, youre a factory of miracles.

Keep asking.

Keep acting.

And produce your miracles.
