    Quarters/ semesters

    1) academic year program:

Students are admitted to this program for full-time study only. The program runs from early to mid September through late May

or early June, and students spend approximately twenty hours per week in class.

    2) one semester program:

Although giving priority to academic-year applicants, we will consider semester, or summer-semester applicants as space permits.

    3) summer program:

Class structure and size for the summer program are generally the same as for the Academic Year Program.

    4) senior scholar program:The Senior Scholar Program is primarily designed for professors who want to polish their language skills. The format and cost of

this program is no different from any of IUP's language programs, and IUP Senior Scholars will attend small group classes with

regular IUP students as well as danbanke. Applications and financial aid are considered on a case-by-case basis. Interested

scholars are encouraged to contact the Berkeley office for details before applying. The deadlines for the Senior Scholar Program

are the same as the regular IUP program deadlines.

    5) continuing student and Alumni program

In the past, IUP has allowed current students and alumni to continue their language studies on an on-going, space-available basis.

Beginning 2003, students interested in continuing their language studies must apply as new applicants and meet the official

    application deadlines.
