Our Rally for Recovery is a free, family-friendly festival which
seeks to raise awareness about drug and
alcohol addiction, mental illness, developmental disabilities,
and the journey of recovery. The event is
coordinated by the Rhode Island Communities for Addiction
Recovery Efforts (RICARES), a grassroots
501c(3) charitable organization in conjunction with the Rhode
Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare,
treatment providers, advocates, and family, friends and allies
of the recovery community.

A few facts about drugs, alcohol and
business: US businesses lose $81 billion each year due to
drug and alcohol impaired employees1
47% of industrial injuries involve alcohol use2
Employees using drugs are 5 times more likely to
file for workmans compensation3
While traditional approaches like pre-
employment screening, testing, and employee
rehabilitation can be effective, some
businesses have taken aproactive approach to thisproblem. These
companies are supporting and helping build the
recovery community, a growing group of people who abstain
from
the use of drugs and alcohol. The annual Rally for Recovery
brings
people in long term recovery together to celebrate another
year
free from drugs and alcohol. This family-friendly,
community-
building event bolsters the recovery community while at the
same
time serving as an example to those outside recovery that
adults
can have fun without drugs and alcohol.
