President’s Corner
Belated Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to all.
It’s that time of year when we:
- Try to get deals made and paid for, start the plan for next year, and deal with the shopping, and/or
- Slow down to reflect on the year that was, the good, the not so good, and things that you would do
differently if you could.
I mention this because we held a joint mixer with the Malta Rotary recently to help our friends and
neighbors to the south (read NYC/NJ) that were impacted by super storm Sandy. The effort saw a
large outpouring of support from our members. We had over 70 people join together to meet, to mix,
to mingle, and to give back. It was wonderful to see so many members get together for a community
effort.
Another observation came from two different people. One was acting as a mentor to a young man
looking for some direction: the other looking to connect with our educators to provide some of our
student’s internship opportunities. Both appeared to be interested in their efforts, both were happy to
be able to help, and both were doing it quietly.
The point: the way to grow is to give; whether it’s to your business, your community, to your family,
we reap what we sow. I enjoyed watching our members support our joint effort; I was touched to see
these two professionals willing to work with tomorrows’ owners and leaders.
From all of us on the Board to you, Happy Holidays!

Membership
How can all members get more benefits, connections, and
value from our association? By building the membership to
increase exposure and outreach. If you know of any busi-
nesses, either in Malta or not, that would benefit from in-
volvement in MBPA, please let Dan Wagner know. It is
your association, let’s all work together to see it grow! Con-
tact Dan at [email protected] or at 518-877-
7999.
Dan Wagner, 1st Vice President
Membership Chair
We have three great technology services provided to MBPA members that you can use to get your message out and build your business!
One is our MBPA Website Public Forum (http://maltabpa.org/Default.aspx?pageId=600596) where you can post news, events, topics,
specials, etc. and these are visible to ANYONE who comes to our website and looks at the forum. You can promote this link in your
promotional materials, and anyone (yes ANYONE) can subscribe to the forum and they will automatically receive an email whenever
there is a posting on the public forum.
Another service is our Member-to-Member Forum on our website (http://maltabpa.org/Default.aspx?pageId=1319109) where you have to
be a member of the MBPA and logged into the site to post or read the postings in this section. This is where you would want to post spe-
cial Member-to-Member news, special discounts, questions, or topics that you would like members to receive. This is another forum that
you can share in your communications with MBPA members and you/they can subscribe to the forum (by clicking on the “subscribe to
forum” link in the upper right side of the forum page). When you subscribe you will receive a brief email when there are postings in the
member-to-member forum.
The third service is the Malta MBPA LinkedIn page (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1958650&mostPopular=&trk=tyah). If you
are a LinkedIn member, you can join this group and share posts with other LinkedIn members. This is another place where you can post
topics, questions, and open discussions to get the word out about your services and help people find you!
In future newsletters, we will share more ways you can use our website and social media to get your message to your customers/clients,
prospects, and those who can help you build your business!

The Programs Committee is working hard to bring you events and speakers that will add value to your membership and to your business!
We have begun to fill our 2013 events, and need your suggestions!
So, if you have a topic that you’d like to see covered at a breakfast or some other event, please let David or Patricia know. and if anyone
is looking to host an event or knows someone who would make a fantastic speaker, please let him know that, too. These events are de-
signed to aid you, our members, in meeting your fellow MBPA partners, so please help us help you! And be sure to check out the website
to see the upcoming events! Please email David at [email protected] or Patricia at [email protected].

Board Development
The MBPA Board is gearing up for the 2013 transition in
board members. We continue to seek individuals who
would be interested in filling vacant spots on the board. We
are looking for individuals who are motivated to find ways
to help the association serve its members better and who
want to work with a dedicated team to further
develop the MBPA within the Malta Community.

presented by the BSBPA,
Monthly Classic Film Series!
Witness a Miracle AND see Santa!
Join us on Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 pm and 6:45 pm in the Ballston Spa High School auditorium for A
Miracle on 34th Street. The 2 pm showing will feature the colorized version while the 6:45 pm showing will be the
original b&w version. Watch them both and decide which you like best!
Could the Kris Kringle at Macy's 34th Street department store be the real Santa Claus? Will it take a miracle to find out?
This is the original 1947, Academy Award winning film starring Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle, Maureen O'Hara as the
Macy's manager who hired him, and a very young Natalie Wood as the child struggling to believe.
The Monthly Classic films are screened in the Ballston Spa High School auditorium and are FREE for anyone to attend.
So please feel free to share this information with all your friends and family, too!
Visit BSpaFilm.org for more information and to join our email list to get the inside scoop

of Human Capital Development with ATIC; and

Specialist with Global Foundries which is owned by
ATIC, enjoy tasting natural spring water at the
Saratoga Spa State Park.
These leaders from ATIC, were touring Saratoga with Todd Shimkus and Annamaria Bellantoni, from the Saratoga Coun-
ty Chamber of Commerce, to explore the expansion of ATIC's Human Capital Initiative to include Fab 8 in Malta. This
initiative provides Abu Dhabi’s young leaders with the opportunity to spend 6-8 weeks working at one of GLOBAL-
FOUNDRIES Fabs in Germany, Singapore and now Saratoga County. Besides working in the Fab during their stay, par-
ticipants also learn about the local community and its culture. The many amenities located and operating within the Sara-
toga Spa State Park could be featured in this cultural exchange program when participants arrive in 2013.
