You shall not use the Software tooperate a service bureau or for any other useinvolving the processing of data for other per-sons or entities.Pioneer and its licensor(s) shall retain all copy-right, trade secret, patent and other proprie-tary ownership rights in the Software. TheSoftware is copyrighted and may not be cop-ied, even if modified or merged with other pro-ducts. 4 EXPORT LAWASSURANCESYou agree and certify that neither the Softwarenor any other technical data received fromPioneer, nor the direct product thereof, will beexported outside the country or district (the“Country”) governed by the government havingjurisdiction over you (the “Government”) ex-cept as authorised and as permitted by thelaws and regulations of the Government. If theSoftware has been rightfully obtained by yououtside of the Country, you agree that you willnot re-export the Software nor any other tech-nical data received from Pioneer, nor the di-rect product thereof, except as permitted bythe laws and regulations of the Governmentand the laws and regulations of the jurisdic-tion in which you obtained the Software.

5 TERMINATIONThis Agreement is effective until terminated.You may terminate it at any time by destroyingthe Software. The Agreement also will termi-nate if you do not comply with any terms orconditions of this Agreement. Upon such ter-mination, you agree to destroy the Software.

6 MISCELLANEOUSThis is the entire Agreement between Pioneerand you regarding its subject matter. Nochange in this Agreement shall be effectiveunless agreed to in writing by Pioneer. If anyprovision of this Agreement is declared invalidor unenforceable, the remaining provisions ofthis Agreement shall remain in full force andeffect.

About the databaseAbout the data for the mapdatabase! Modifications related to roads, streets/high-

ways, terrain, construction and other thingsbefore/during the development period maynot be reflected in this database. Inevitably,those modifications after that period arenot reflected in this database.

! Regardless of existing and newly-builtthings, the data may be different from theactual condition.

! For details about the map coverage of thisnavigation system, refer to the informationon our website.

! It is strictly prohibited to reproduce and useany part or the whole of this map in anyform without permission from the copyrightowner.

! If the local traffic regulations or conditionsdeviate from this data, follow the local traf-fic regulations (such as signs, indications,etc.) and conditions (such as construction,weather, etc.).

If you upgrade your navigation system bythese discs, the system will have the followingchanges.

Renewed points for all modelsRenewal Map databaseThe Map database will be changed.

Wide variety of facilityinformation for Points ofInterest (POI) searchApproximately 2 million POIs are included inthe database.! The categories that you can use for voice

recognition also will be changed. To knowthe categories that you can vocalize, seethe displayed voice help.

! Some facilities icons used in POI Search,Vicinity Search, and Overlay POI will bechanged.

Triple DiscThis package is adopted “Triple Disc” systemso as to contain larger database and expandedcoverage area; for the west, for the central,and for the east.You can use a disc according to current loca-tion or destination, so that you can get comfor-table operation at the long-distancenavigation.

Configuration of data recorded on discs

Due to expanding the map database and thelimitations of the disc’s storage capacity, thefollowing contents in the Central area dischave been changed.! Search data for Austria and Denmark

are deleted.The search data for Austria and Denmarkare deleted from the Central area disc andbecome available only on the East areadisc. To search maps of Austria or Den-mark, use the East area disc.

! The coverage of lower scale maps onthe Central area disc is reduced.The coverage of lower scale maps of thenorthern and eastern borders on the Cen-tral area disc is reduced.

Note for cross-disc routingIf your current location and the destination arestored on different discs, it is necessary tochange discs on the way.In the case of such cross-disc routing, the fol-lowing procedure is recommended.

1 Insert the disc containing the destina-tion you want to set.

2 Search for the destination and set asyour destination.

3 After route calculation finished, re-move the current disc.

4 Insert the disc containing your currentlocation.

p The navigation system reboots automati-cally remembering your destination androute set.

p To play DVD-video or CD, remove the DVDMap Disc after the “Memory navi indicator”stops flashing.

5 Drive toward your destination.p When you approach the areas not stored on

the current disc, the navigation system in-forms you of approaching that area. Re-place the disc at that time.

p Removing the disc and inserting anotherdisc causes the navigation system to auto-matically restart and reload the new route.(This automatic “Reroute” operation cannotbe cancelled.)

Limitation of Functions forAreas not Stored on the DiscFor areas not stored on the disc, the functionswill operate as follows:

Displaying the map! Maps with a scale of between 25m and

200m cannot be displayed. (If the scalewas set to between 25m and 200m, it isautomatically switched to 500m.)

! When driving withMixed Mode, St.ListMode or Driver’s View, upon entering anarea not stored on the disc the displayautomatically switches toMap Mode.(When the vehicle reenters an area storedon the disc, the display returns to the pre-vious map mode except for Driver’s View.)

Destination search! You cannot search a destination in an area

not stored on the disc using Address

Search, POI Search, Vicinity Search orPostal Code Search.

! If you cannot search in a currently selectedcountry, the system may forcibly switch tothe country selection screen.

! AMotorway Search covers all areas, re-gardless of the disc on which the informa-tion is stored.

! If a Vicinity Search is performed on theborder of an area not stored on the disc,the system will not necessarily select thenearest facility. (The search will take placeonly within the range of areas stored on thedisc.)

Guidance! When your vehicle approaches an area not

stored on the disc, you will be notified threetimes: when the distance to the area notstored on the disc is 20 km (12 miles),10 km (6 miles) and 5 km (3 miles) respec-tively. When your vehicle enters that area, acaution is given.

! In the areas not stored on the disc, onlyguidance for reaching the destination isprovided. No other guidance is given.

! If a route calculation is operated within anareas not stored on the disc, the routemight not be set from the streets you arecurrently driving. Also, if you set the desti-nation in an area not stored on the disc ofthe disc, the system may not be able to setthe route up to the destination.

! If the vehicle deviates from the set route inan area not stored on the disc, the Auto Re-route function will not work.

! Even if “Close-up of Junction” is “On”, thedisplay will not switch to an enlarged mapof the junction.

! Even if you drive on the motorway, lane in-formation, motorway exit numbers and mo-torway signs will not be displayed.

Route information! If the set route goes through an area not

stored on the disc, no route profile for thatarea will be displayed. (If the set route tra-verses both an area not stored on the discand area stored on the disc, only the routeprofile within the area stored on the discwill be displayed.)

! Route scrolling for an area not stored onthe disc is possible only with a map scaleof 500m or above.

Other function limitationsMemory mode! Only data for areas stored on the disc can

be memorised. (Data for areas not storedon the disc cannot be memorised.)

! If the vehicle enters an area not stored onthe disc, preparation for memory navimode will have to be redone after the vehi-cle returns to an area stored in the disc.(Preparation for the memory navi modestarts from the location where the vehiclere-entered the area stored on the disc.)

Avoid areaAn area not stored on the disc cannot be setas an Area to Avoid.p A set Areas to Avoid may be deleted when

the software is updated. If this happens,the system will automatically try to recoverthe deleted information, but data can be re-covered only for areas stored on the disc.For items that could not be recovered, a re-covery process will begin when you set an-other disc.

Recovery process for memory naviand avoid areaThe memorised area may be deleted in the fol-lowing circumstances:

! Yellow lead of the navigation system or thevehicle battery is disconnected.

! RESET button is pressed.! Navigation software is updated.p In these circumstances, the system will

automatically try to recover the deleted in-formation, but data can be recovered onlyfor areas stored on the disc. For items thatcould not be recovered, a recovery processwill begin when you set another disc.

The function is not available during memorynavi mode. Or, the function is not available forareas not stored on the disc.Touching this button activates a message indi-cating that the function is not available.In memory navi mode and/or when traversingan area not stored on the disc, selection of thescales is limited.

Set the destination or way point(s) inthe countries stored on the DVDMap Disc, or replace the DVD MapDisc and perform the search again.

Failed to make the route profile. Failed to generate the route profilebecause the set route passesthrough areas not stored on the DVDMap Disc.

Insert the DVD Map Disc and retry.

No route data can be stored. Youshould insert the disc that con-tains the map data of the currentposition.

The area to be set for [Map in Mem-ory] is “areas not stored on the DVDMap Disc”.

• Change the memory area to be setto “areas stored on the DVD MapDisc”.• Insert the DVD Map Disc contain-ing that area.

•Scaling down.•Scaling up.

In the memory navi mode, if the DVDMap Disc is inserted without chan-ging the scale (only when the pointis stored on the DVD Map Disc).

The scale automatically returns tothe scale that was set in the DVDnavi mode before being changed tothe memory navi mode.

• No map data available on thisscale. Scaling up.• No map data available on thisscale. Scaling down.

When the scale that had been pre-viously displayed cannot be dis-played for the following reasons:• The disc was ejected and the sys-tem was changed to the memorynavi mode.• In the memory navi mode, the mapwas scrolled to outside the memoryarea. Or, the vehicle moved outsideof the memory area.• The map was scrolled to areas notstored on the DVD Map Disc. Or, thevehicle moved to unrecorded areas.• The map was scrolled from unrec-orded areas to the memory area. Or,the vehicle moved from unrecordedareas to the memory area.

If the desired scale cannot be se-lected, insert the DVD Map Disc thatcontains that area and then changethe scale.

Failure in the memory recoveryprocess. Memory navigation ispresently not possible.

Failed to complete the recovery ofthe memory area because the disccould not be read for some reason,resulting in deletion of the memory.

• Clean the disc.• Clean the DVD drive.• Consult the Pioneer Local dealer ifthis message persists.

This function is not available withthe current map disc.

The current position is “areas notstored on the DVD Map Disc” and anattempt was made to zoom in tomake the scale 500m or more.

Zoom in again after the vehiclemoves into an area stored on theDVD Map Disc.Or, replace the DVD Map Disc andtry to zoom in again.

The programme is installed to the navigationsystem using the application disc.When installing the programme, you carry outthe following operations. When all the setupprocedures are completed, you can use thenavigation system.The screen images used in this section areAVIC-X1R as an example.

CAUTIONYou cannot go back to the previous (pre-upgrade) version of the application afterthe software upgrade is completed. Also,the map discs that were previously usedcannot be used. Instead, use the CNDV-110MT DVDs as your new map discs.

1 Park your vehicle in a safe place.Leave the engine on, and make sure that thehandbrake is applied.

2 Press EJECT button to remove the cur-rent disc.

3 Insert the new Pioneer DVD Map Discinto the appropriate slot.

When the upgraded programme has beenfound, installation of the programme starts im-mediately.

p If you cannot insert a disc completely or ifan inserted disc is not recognised, checkthat the label side of the disc is up. PressEJECT button to eject the disc, and checkthe disc for damage before inserting thedisc again.

CAUTIONWhile this screen is visible, NEVER switch theignition key position or turn off the power of na-vigation system.

When the installation is complete, the openingdisplay appears.

p By upgrading AVIC-X1 or AVIC-X1BTwiththese discs, the same screen appears.

p By upgrading other models with thesediscs, the following opening display ap-pears.

4 Press the NAVI/AV button to changethe navigation screen.Some time is needed until navigation is ready.

5 Check the details of the caution mes-sage and touch [OK].The map of your surroundings is displayed.You can operate the navigation system bytouching keys displayed on the screen asusual.

When upgrading AVIC-X1, perform the following pro-cedure.

6 To set the time difference, touch [+] or[–].

Time difference

The time difference between the time origin-ally set in the navigation system (Central Eur-opean Time) and the current location of yourvehicle is shown. If necessary, adjust the timedifference. Touching [+] or [–] changes thetime difference display in one-hour incre-ments. The time difference can be set from +3to –3 hours.

7 If necessary, set to summer time.Summer time setting is off by default. Touch[Summer Time] to change the setting if youare in the summer time period.

8 To complete the setting, touch [Back].

The map of your surroundings appears.
